haha I see. Its odd how angry birds can originate on cell phones, is now getting royalties out the ass from licensing and is second to Nintendo own franchises (in the west) on the 3DS and will top all software in terms of 3rd party titles for the Wii U and 3DS again with angry birds star wars. Seems like a lot of brand expansion on their part.

The simple answer is that Rovio doesn't make its own hardware and thus has nothing to lose by making Angry Birds available on other platforms.

Software sales drive hardware sales, its not the other way around.  And Software contributes more to a game companies bottom line and top line, not hardware.  So with Rovio's successful software, they do not need to bother with hardware especially when there is a device that sells hundreds of millions a year on its own.  I can  easliy understand people's willingness to question Nintendo's laziness in their inability to create a Nintendo game that utilizes smartphone touch screens without interfearing (or even potentially acting as a gateway) to their button based handheld and console counterparts.  If Nintendo feels that their titles are of value, then said value should be able to hold and transfer to any medium.  All their value doesnt have to be equal, the smartphone game they create doesnt have to be a mario game. It speaks to more greed on Nintendo's end than anything else.

Then Sony and MS need to put their top franchises on mobile too, right?

My head hurts from reading that. Your leaps of logic are astounding.

What he's saying is that they should put Steel Diver on iOS.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

It'll feel weird playing a Nintendo game on a smartphone or tablet. I don't know why people are pushing Nintendo so much to enter that particular field, is there any need to?

Any positive effect would be ephemeral, and the long-term damage to the structures built upon their own hardware foundations (since there would then be a choice of playing brand new Nintendo games without need for Nintendo hardware) would be difficult to repair. This is why "concern trolls" want it to happen so badly.

I agree with Iwata 100% on this one.

Fact is smart phones aren't good gaming devices, and that's why Nintendo shouldn't put their games on iphone or android. Nintendo's games are all about the game play, and that doesn't translate well to touch screens; they'd have to change the very foundation of their games to make them work on ios/android.

You have to be pretty stupid not to see that.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Say that to the Pokemon Emerald ROMs out there.

Just put VC on the thing already so people can buy it legally.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Exactly. The people (meaning the public) will at least realize that smartphone and tablet games are cheaper than buying a console and then a 60$ game, it will definitely hurt console sales, and it would create a world where people would almost not even consider buying any of Nintendo's hardware if the games are available on something they already own.

I also aagree with the fact that the people who are "pushing" this are in fact "concern trolls". Probably the same trolololo people who want Nintendo to go 3rd party.

GBA ROMs are like what, 16MB (too high? Not sure), rather easy to pirate them since they are low in size. But it would be great to play Emerald on 3DS though. C'mon Nintendo!!

This conversation sums it all up pretty nicely! QFT!
