Let me clear the air on this. You can't just flip the switch on policy changes like that. Changes are made through the entire company when something like this happens. Microsoft had deals in place and a road map for their console to be always on and connected during this generation.

A entire new business plan/road map had to be put together from the ground up due to all these policy changes. People don't realize this and just want to be sarcastic about a interview.

I believe Sony made the right move to make PS plus more attractive to people but they are taking the exact steps as MS with XBL gold. Also, what is the difference between the renting of games on PS plus and DRM? I do not know actually. I am not against DRM but I would atleast prefer to own the games I buy, not loose them the moment I end my subscription to a service, that is kind of bizzare.
