It was proven that god doesn't exist? Show me please!

I know were gonna walk in circles here, but it follows the same logic as this: Flying pigs dont exist? Show me please!

Fair.

But on the last post you did, what about people who doesn't know about cientific discoveries that disprove of religious claims? They aren't driven by desire!

i don't know man. sometimes I don't know why us humans are here. let me ask a silly question: what if you created some living lifeforms, are their GOD?

You not knowing why we are here doesn't mean there is a reason. I know why you think that though - it's evolution. If we were to truly get a sense of perspective we wouldn't bother getting up in the morning.

You still wouldn't have the proper characteristics usually ascribed to a god: omniscience, immortality, etc.

Unfortunely thats is the other coin for wich religion was originally created. To take advantage of ignorance and control societies.

Wich at the time was a great idea, but nowadays we got constitutions and law for that.

If that is the purpose, out of curiosity. Which do you think is the better one?

then should we be Agnostic?  I'm sorry if I don't see the benefits of being an Atheist. I love the idea of an after life...it beats just being in a box.

I think this is one of the best arguments: If God is perfect, then how are the law of physics imperfect? Examples: development of diseases like cancer and autoimmune diseases, evolution of pathogens and getting resistant to antibiotics, disasters that are occurring in nature. Those kind of things occur because of 'flaws' or mechanisms that are compromised by another law that are made up by God. When he made them, he knew these kind of things would happen. Since he's perfect, he should've taken the time to come up with a perfect universe. Now this all sounds like bullcrap because it takes law of physics to CREATE something. Also, if God is HAPPY, or ANGRY with you (like many religious people told me because I'm a non-believer), then he's dependent of his own laws which means he's not perfect or the creator of ALL. Simple put: God doesn't exist.

Well, I wouldn't say the law of physics are imperfect, but our understandings of them. But I don't think you are reffing to physics that much but chemistry. I would say physics doesn't have much to to directly with the organic chemistry problems and diseases you stated.

I would question, if God is such a loving God, why are so many people tortured, murdered and molested.  There is such a tremendous amount of suffering in the world.  I just read a story about a man with ASL (Lou Gehrig's Disease which is just a horrible slow way to die) who had to go to court to get the state to recognize his marriage so his husband can be buried next to him when he dies.  How on earth is it loving to have a dieing man so disrespected and having to go to court while he is suffering for something so simple and a final wish.

Plus, if God created the Universe, why would that creator care about some tiny world, and a tiny's person on it, and wither or not their soccer teams wins.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

I always find this question funny - Which God?

The existence of an afterlife isn't dependent on whether or not you believe there is an afterlife.

And it sounds like you would be a theists just in case there is a God. That doesn't sound like true faith to me, so I doubt a God would let you in anyway.

I think most atheists, including myself, are just 99% sure there's no God. We'd be open to evidence to the contrary. So we're basically agnostic.

I value the truth more than the comfort of liking the idea of an afterlife. Don't you?

Law seems to be more honest, accurate and clear with its meaning and based in the real world. It is created by the societies with representitves that are elected by the people. Its not perfect but its realistic and aims to be fair. It creates order without the need for dubious claims.

The means to do that in ancient times wasnt there, so religion was the right solution then. Threaten the people with something they fear to make them abide.
