Forums - Gaming - Square Enix still "wouldn't say no" to a Western-developed Final Fantasy spin-off

I still would have liked to see Fortress. Obviously I wouldn't want them pawning off a main entry to someone else, but I've love a little extra flavor for a spin-off.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Please square no more ff13 spin offs, i am sick of turn based gameplay.

Doesnt matter who makes it, as long as I like what i see and the game is awesome all for it

I wouldnt mind a western developed FF game as long as it isnt a generic storyline with fetch quests.

Then you dont want a western FF. It's a bad move. I cant shake the feeling Japanese developers dont that being Japanese is big part of the appeal of Japanese games. If I wanted to play a WRPG then I would go play a WRPG.

It's not because a western studio make it that it will become a wrpg with a universe-based storyline.

Wow, Square are still trying at it, after Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest and Secret of Evermore....

Mortal Kombat versus FF

Do it. I demand the ability to rip Snow in 2 from crotch to face.

just partner with Nintendo and let Monolith Soft develop one or something -.-

Maybe this is their solution to putting out generic sequels and diverting from the main series. Instead of having their main games and sequels developed in house, export sequels to one of their many international studios around the world that used to be known as Eidos. And then SquEnix can make the awesome games we actually want, which is the main series titles.

It's just a matter of how close to the source material they stay of course. A lot of modern western RPGs is padded with kill quests, but knowing FFXII and XIII, they were too.

Hmm, pie.

From what I can tell, Square Enix is incapable of saying no to anything Final Fantasy related. They should probably consider doing so every once in a while.
