Doesn't change that Last of Us released in this time and pretty much did jack for PS3 sales. I expected a much higher number to be honest

Did you expect mre than 10m for the FY? I don't... so 1.1m is fine.

Only 0.1 million more then 360? With Last of US with no notable 360 releases.....with mainland Europe and Japan in Sonys pocket?

Im sorry but it doesn't make sense......that or I require a dedicated apology from at least 3 prominent PS3 fans on vgchartz for spreading propaganda that PS3 momentum was clearly exaggerated ;)

Correct me if I am wrong but there was a new redesign for the 360 the quarter, it must be worth something.

He's just spouting FUD, really.  This is the slowest time for sales for the year, so these sales are to be expected.  And really, exclusives this late in the game (unless they come with a custom designed console bundle) don't really do much for HW sales.  Still, even in the slow months of summer, the PS3 has added another 100K to the gap.  This holiday season, it will add even more.  Especially if it drops to $199.

So much butthurt over PS3 passing, even if it's only slightly. C'mon, we've all seen this coming for a while, not like it's a surprise. And even in the off chance it hasn't happened yet, it's currently happening. Let's move on.

Sony had a good Q1 as they reduced their expenses, cut their losses in their electronics division by trimming their market share and focusing only on core products, superb growth in their Financial Division and most importantly, Abenomics. Color me surprised though that Sony posted such a steep loss in their gaming division, over 150 million US. I was expecting an operating loss due to ongoing costs for PS4 development but one would of thought that with the successful release of their first-party title The Last of US and so forth, they would of at least had a lower loss.

Why shouldn't I? I know if there's an issue, they'll eventually rectify the problem. If you don't, why come here to even observe the data?

Don't even go there. I am an advocate of this site, but it's undeniable that recent tracking is off. Aren't we allowed to say that when it is clear, with evidence?

It's not about "going" anywhere. It's a reasonable question based on presented behavior. I don't ever doubt our numbers and I'm not the advocate you may be. However, if I ever felt like some here, I wouldn't, at any point, use the data in arguments, either. It makes it then seem agendatized (no, not a word, but I'm using it :P).

Simple enough, when the 360 was ahead, based on VGC, I believed it. With the PS3 ahead, I believe it (and other sites have backed this up, so that strengthens the theory even more). Nothing is certain, but we already know that coming here. These are guesstimates based on factual data and they do a damn better job than anyone else that tries to tally sold to consumer (which is virtually impossible at 100%).

I'm beginning to feel all the real issue began with IDC posting those shipment numbers. Some getting inclined to NPD data and the others IDC.

Why is Sony still so afraid of revealing the PS3 figures? Are they waiting for milestones now? Kinda makes sense I guess, they last revealed at 70 million.

If only we had more like you when 360 is screamed to be overtracked......sigh.

Who makes those claims that the 360 is overtracked? It's no difference, no matter who says it, nor about what. I trust the numbers, but the only time I've ever seen anyone doubt them with this "vengeance" is when their preferred is on the losing end.

Why?

Recent form is horrible.

Why shouldn't I? I know if there's an issue, they'll eventually rectify the problem. If you don't, why come here to even observe the data?

Kowens right, Vita numbers are always being adjusted, half the games are hugely undertracked...You can only take the sales on the site with a grain of salt and use them as an idea of what is selling and whats not.

Guys, Sony will announce 80 million milestone soon... keep calm

What do you think, TGS maybe? I know its towards the end of September, so it wouldnt surprise me.

80 Million PS3s just before PS4 launch is nice. Lets the PS3 trundle along to that 100 Million milestone over the next 4 Years or so.

Gamescon or early September (like first week) are my bets.
