Are people so desperate for X360 to be back in 2nd place their grasping at straws and yelling overtracked? wow, it must be a hard pill to swallow sometimes that PS3 overtook X360..

Do not say desperate.....since certain fans desperately wanted to get out of last place since launching in 2006

Given the weekly totals from April-June, the PS3/360 gap is clearly more then the 100k shipped gap between MS and Sony. So im afriad its completely based on something factual.

Yelling overtracked? My my do you even see the number of PS fans screaming that 360 is overtracked throughout the years?

Wasn't ahrd at all if you must know. We expected it to happen eventually. And given the gen over gen gains and massive profit gaps between both consoles, it really isn't a big deal at all now TBH.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Your right, Sony could have very well overshipped, good theory! ;)

Its certainly a better theory than "lol overtracked!"

You should think before you post sometimes, sales.

What would you say would be a reasonable number of stock to be on shelves? 500k? 600k?

Please don't confuse me with a PS fan with that quote. Given the weekly totals from April-June, the PS3/360 gap is clearly more then the 100k shipped gap between MS and Sony. So im afriad its completely based on something factual.

There is no confusion, because there is very little difference.

How many PS3s were shipped during Jan-March?

By how many units are we overtracking PS3?

Where are we overtracking PS3?

Those are perfect questions to ask the great people that do vgchartz hardware numbers.

But youre so sure that its overtracked. Come on. Back up your statement. Dont back away now.

Are you saying that, because they sold more in the Quarter than they shipped, that its got to be overtracked?

If only we had more like you when 360 is screamed to be overtracked......sigh.

There would be evidence behind those statements, because we get actual 360 numbers from Microsoft.

There is no evidence here, because we dont have a PS3 total. We dont know how many PS3s were shipped during Jan-March. The last, real number we got from Sony was 70 Million, back in November. Until Sony give us a new total, we cant really say if its over or undertracked because of a lack of data.

We can guess, like ethomaz did with his numbers above, but adjusting on a "guess" is a dangerous thing to do.

And here it comes! lol even when PS3 is overtracked, you still get those who call undertracked.

Your kind is so intruiging

No. I'm just showing real facts... the Nintendo chartz will show if PS3 is under or over in others places but in UK it is under in UK... it was the best selling console in June and VGC shows it below 360 and 3DS.

Wow, there's some real desperation in here. I guess some just can't stand that Sony is righting the ship, while taking over 2nd place.

As for those screaming overtracked, here is the reasoning that I used (I'm guessing ioi used similar logic for the adjustments that happened earlier this year) in my thread about the lack of adjustments here.

"PS3 - This is the most egregiously undertracked console (VGC no longer tracks PS2). 77.4M-77.7M* shipped as of March 2013 to VGC's 73.97M sold. This leaves 3.43M-3.73M on shelves, which is not only highly unlikely, but darn near impossible. Using the 1.2M number from before, the PS3 is undertracked by 2.23M-2.53M units. Update: VGC now shows 76.34M sold. This puts 1.06M-1.36M on shelves and is probably close to reality.

* - Estimate based on PS3 and PS2 shipping 16.5M combined for FY2012.  The PS3 was said to be down YOY, so the max it shipped was 13.8M (13.9M shipped in FY2011).  However, given that the PS2 only shipped 4.1M and was down 36% YOY in FY2011, I can't see the PS2 shipping more than 3M in FY2012."

So, if you honestly think that the PS2 was less than 27% down YOY, when the year before it was 36% down, I think that's just wishful thinking on your part.
