Godzilla fans don't want realism though; realism killed the 1998 film. Fantasy is more fun than realism. If you're going to have a 100 meter tall monster, may as well go all the way.

I don't want a guy in a suit with fake little buildings. King Kong remake looked real, was similar to classic and was done well. They can do same with Godzilla.

Fans don't want fake, but they don't want an anorexic iguana either; they want Godzilla to be the heavily armoured tank he should be.

I never said he shouldn't look the part. I just want a real looking lizard/monster... not a dude in a suit.

Godzilla's not a lizard. And we don't know yet if it's a suit.

Must see new Godzilla... Sony and their American version of Zilla sucked.. (So much so it's not even called Godzilla in Japan.. just Zilla.. and gets it's butt kicked in like 3 seconds by the real Godzilla in Final Wars... I am liking what I am seeing and hearing of this version a lot better..

I'm not sold yet. Looks a bit to lumbering for my taste.  I do mostly like Monsters - the same director is working on it and I have hopes for him.

I have a been a big Godzilla fan since I was like 2.5. I went to Hollywood and stayed up all night to see the 98 'Godzilla' film at the Cinerama dome. I didn't get into the first screening, but the second.  With the condemning of France violating the ban on anti nuclear atmospheric testing as part of the story.  I thought, great entertaining and poignant!

As the first group was walking out some walked over to use and said, "It sucked!" We were like, "Wow, it must really be great, they are just trying to tease us."

But we were wrong, so very wrong. If you liked it fine, enjoy the 'Zilla' film, but I couldn't figure out why it was so bad - it was somehow worse than the pieces that made it. These were a group of die hard fans who stayed up all night - and they were laughing at what was supposed to be scary parts.  Ok, fair as a disaster film, but it wasn't a Godzilla film - it was like a Jurassic Park 4 or something.

I don't think I have been able to watch or enjoy a Mathew Broderick Film since.

Spoiler:  If it had just eaten his horrible girlfriend it could have redeemed itself.  Yes, that horrible lady that stole stuff to make herself famous and screw over her ex  OR the Taxi! I was screaming  eat the taxi.

CGI Godzilla can work!  Just look at here:

Go to 1:50 if you just want to see Godzilla, but it's only 2 minutes, I recomend watching the whole thing.

Seen it, and yes, Godzilla can work as  CGI. Never said he couldn't. He just doesn't work as an iguana.
