Nope, i'm done. Fuck this.

Another option is a good force of yellow Pikmin, I don't think i used blue pikmin much at all.  You can pretty much stand out of the reach of the tongue and hoist yellow Pikmin into the middle with very little risk to the rest of your force, you just have to do it quickly. You might need to step back just slightly when he licks to ensure the rest of your team stay out of harms way but the yellow Pikmin continue to attack because they are high and out of the way.

It's then just a matter of a well timed whistle to bring back your yellow Pikmin at the right moment. Done right casualties should be minimal.

I spend most of this boss fight on the whistle to ensure that my rock Pikmin don't drown and you can generally save most.  It took two or three goes but I think the first timed i focused on using the yellows I beat him and lost <10.  It may not be the quickest way but it works.

The tongue is only an issue if i'm attacking too conservatively, i've found. A heavy enough attack will have him flinch before he can use that damned thing. Mass drownings/stompings after he stands up after a chance at attacking him is what kills Pikmin in the field of 20 to 30 at a time.

Your strategy seems sound, as i found yellows were also good in knocking him over faster. Maybe my matured Blues and Yellows will do better, perhaps removing the Rocks from play after their time is up

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

There, i beat that dickwad with 11 losses total, with a souped-up team of Blue Pikmin and some Yellows and a few rocks that slipped inside my whistle circle when i called the post-crystal team to work.

Nice one Mr Khan! Onwards and upwards now, right?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

So i'm not meant to beat this amorphous thingy in one day, am I?

:/

At least give me some fruit so i'm not chewing into my buffer...

FUCKING SPIDER! Takes so long to kill those dickshits

The yellow and black ones or something else?

Yeah. Rock Pikmin work, but you can't always throw them high enough to hit him, so sometimes it takes a while, but while you're waiting to snipe him, the yellow-ooze-guy is still pursuing Brittany, and if you take your eyes off the spider-fight, he might just eat some of the Rocks that may get stuck in the web.

Can i bomb him?

@ Mr Khan. I lure him down with one flying Pikmin, then three or four direct hits with rock Pikmin.

I found the second day of the Formidable Oak to be the most annoying, although i managed to get the whole pathway opened, so now i just need to do the run straight on the third day and i'll be golden. Maybe pick up one or two of those other guys on the way.

I do like tha getting Olimar captured just ends the day early, so that you don't have to worry about getting back to the ship: if you let him get caught right at th e end of the day, you can use the whole day to your best purpose.

I don't really have any useful advice here. Unless you are much better than me you are going to lose Pikmin, more than you might like.
