Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Empire - New thread up soon!

I swear I like Indies, don't really care about graphics in games and I will definitely buy Axiom Verge for PC in the future but to see how these kind of games are used to prove the awesomeness of consoles released end of 2012/2013 is sad. I mean, if we wouldn't have Wii U, XBO and PS4 these games would release on PS360 and maybe Wii, that's almost like saying "I paid some hundred bucks so that I don't get this game on a console I already owned"

Sure, people buy other games as well but the reason why some of these indie games don't release on the old gen is only because there is a new gen. New consoles should be about stuff which releases only because of the new gen and wouldn't be a thing otherwise and not about only changing the console gen such a game releases for.

Was going to buy FF Type-0 today, but got FFX/X2 instead. So what are the impressions of Type-0 in here?

I spent 7 hours on the game already. Until now it is a 6/10 game at most.

For the ones interested, halo wars is the GWG game for Japan...

Halo Wars was my favorite Halo game on Xbox 360.

Anyone who didn't try it should do as soon as possible.

Microsoft needs to get Kojima and establish an new studio around him in Japan.
I don't think he is as good as advertised but he has followers and could be the only way Microsoft can enter Japan.

Add to that another japanese studio that is struggling right now and we have two japanese studio where we can get one exclusive japanese game every year.

Plus, Kojima games sells well on the west. You don't have to worry about it not being profitable.

Perfect Dark is a game about a secret agent with some crazy story behind it.

I think Kojima would feel at home. Plus MS has budget for his crazy Hollywood cravings.

I am not talking about Gears, Battletoads, Banjo,  the next Twisted Pixel and the new RTS studio game. Something besides that. I understand, youre afraid :)

Now Lost Odyssey 2, Shenmue 3, Persona 5.. wanna bet?

These games will never be announced for xbox .

MS grabbing Kojima would be great, but sadly I don't think Phil will even try.

Kojima game + studio would microsoft cost more than a halo game from 343 industries.

I like indie games, and I like graphics.

Look at Limbo, very simple, but well done and such a specific atmosphere.  No music either, but the sounds make a great atmospher.

I like indie games because they can have a different and unexpected experience and/or gameplay.  I also like short films for the same reason.  With a blockbuster you usually know how it's going to go and end.  With a short film or an indie game, they can be more creative, unorhadox and take risk because they aren't the financial risk that they need a sure fire winner.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Why that hate towards AR/VR? As long as I can afford to get one I think it could be cool.

I love my Wii for the first few years. No, not everything needs movement, but it was great one some things. Then Kinect kind of kicked it.

Plus for E3 will be Guitar Hero and Rock Band 4.

AR/VR would be cool if I could afford it, but I know I won't be able to anytime soon, so for me, MS spending probably 15 minutes of their 90 minute E3 conference on AR/VR is just using up time that they could be using to announce games that appeal to the core audience. All of the extraneous stuff starts to add up, 15 minutes for AR/VR, 10 minutes for the needlessly long CoD demo that's there every year, 10 minutes on average of presenters just standing there talking. And then there's the fact that alot of the smaller publishers who don't have E3 shows of their own use Microsoft's conference to show or announce their games, so there's another 20 minutes on average spent on multiplat games. Then the time spent on games that have already been announced (Halo 5, RotTR, Fable Legends, Gigantic, Quantum Break, Scalebound, Crackdown, etc.). That doesn't leave much time for new exclusive announcements, like I said a few posts up, I can't see them announcing more than 7 new games, and 4 of those are already rumored so they won't really be surprising.

and DexInDaJungle

Both of you game reasonable fair explanations.  Yes, I am concerned about the cost too.   Not just for myself, but also adoption by the larger masses.  Doesn't matter if it's the most amazing experience ever, if only 10 people get to play.

This E3 will be the biggest surprize or most predictible.  Oh, and I think they internal componets will shrink, but doubt their will be a slim yet.

Really?  What does the guy do?  Burn money to heat water to make tea?

Well if you want surprises from E3 don't roam day in day out on gaming community forums... Simple as that... Jap comp don't keep much secret either... I haven't had true surprises from E3 for a long while... Don't really expect any... I want to see demo, content, and numbers... I miss numbers... E3 is suppose to be a professional expo may I remind you...

I read one of you talking about Japanese studio holding secrets better... Really secrets about what that we'll have an FF189 a Mario 32, a mortal combat extrem curling naked 6, a Naruto 25, a tales of my butt on facebook games?? A Kojima game of the century wanna be that sucks ass as game but a decent B movie cut scene fest??? Seriously I could stop watching Japanese gaming news for a decade and still not be surprised... They haven't been origins for ages over there... I use to love them, they've been doing rinse and repeat for ages on various cycle length... But nothing truly surprising..
