I won't call domination this year (obvious reasons). However, I expect Wii U to dominate PS4 and Xbox one next year once MK and Smash are released.

| mind said: Depends on what do you mean by "doom", 3rd place in gen(2nd if x1 failes) and ~40m is not "doom", but not great either. And Pikmin sales shows pretty much nothing, it's average, there will be no ~100k boost for wii u in a week or something like that, |
Remeber Nintendo finished third with the GC. However, Nintendo made way more money with the GC than Microsoft did (they didn't make any money with Xbox, only lost money). Nintendo also made more money with GC + GBA than Sony did with the PS2.
I never thought for a moment that Wii U was doomed to begin with. I've always known that the problem was lack of games, and specifically the games drought from Jan-May, with the sole exception of a smattering in titles in March.
Pikmin 3 is a highly anticipated title, and I know there are many like myself who can't wait to buy it. I already have it pre-ordered.

I think consoles are done in Japan period. Nothing will "dominate" that market, Wii U will sell like the GameCube, the Wii Sports/Fit boom was a temporary 3-4 craze in Japan that faded away.
The next Nintendo game machine will be a console/portable hybrid probably specced similarly to the Wii U, just entirely portable.

I call bullshit on the bold. So you live in Japan huh? And you bought Pikmin 3 right to switch it off a hour later? I smell bullshit. |
dont make me walk outside the bar im currently sat in and make you look stupid.
alternatively just ask a mod what isp im connected to.
Oh, and please, puuuleeeasse, respond with "okay fine so you live in japan i still dont believe the rest", because i'll take great pleasure in proving you wrong a second time.
As for pikmin, it just doesnt interest me, i never said it was bad, just that its not something i particularly found interesting while playing, i had not played the previous two and figured i would pick this up as i didnt have anything else to do with the launch wiiu sat under my tv - do i regret buying it? no, my wife might play it or one of my friends, but do i enjoy it enough to play it for more than the hour i did? no, not really.
As i mentioned in another thread my free time is limited, so spending it playing a game im not into doesnt make much sense.
It's a personal preference, if i said "omg pikmin 3 suuuuucks" then fair enough, be offended, but i simply said it wasnt a massive system seller (which you yourself stated too) and that i only played it an hour before turning it off, stop being so touchy.

Are you implying you don't like the game? o_O Also, I've always said it'll take a collection of games to sell Wii U, rather than any one game on it's own. The weekly average should gradually increase after each release. Pikmin 3 is only the start! |
Yes, i dont particularly like the game, i bought it figuring id give it a shot, but its not my cup of tea.
lol even 360 had months where it sold 20-40k when some big games came out in japan, and this proof that the wiiu will be ok, it reminds why don't post here much any more.

you dont post because there are people with a different opinion to you? why do you even use the internet in that case?
