I learned my lesson by paying AU$400 for a Wii soon after launch. I hated that console and will never risk spending more than $300 on a potential dissapointment again.

PS3 (with move and 3 games) £300 - October 2010

PS Vita: 199 € (LBP Pack /w 4 GB Mem Card)

I payed €700 for my ps3 at launch.... :l

WiiU was the only console I bought at launch ever. Huge mistake.

I still haven't played all my Wii games yet. Trying to backlog bust before Pik 3 comes out.

Gamecube: $50 (refurbished, included memory cards)
XBox 360: $450 (included a 2-year service plan and Allen Wake/ Forza. Curse RRoD issues!)
PSP: $250 (I include the three memory cards I bought over time in the price, as that's a hidden cost of the console.)

Price per performance the Gamecube is easily the best and the 360--with its Gold subscription on top--is easily the worst. The consoles which flop really wind up with quite the value deals.

$470 - 360 at launch went through 3 RRODs + $240 for paying for RROD repairs($120 each time, first time it was covered by warranty)before the 4th one which was the one and only slim, lasted but got traded in.

$245 - ps vita bc i bought it used with 8gig mem card, just wifi.

$340 - wii - is now good for telling me when its time to dust.

My Gamecube was $100 and came with a memory card, and two games

GBC and GBA were gifts from my parents

Nintendo DS-Q1 2005- I believe was launch price ($150), and I think I got Super Mario 64 DS as well

DS Lite - 2008?? - $120 - Original DS broke so I replaced it with a Lite.

Wii - June 2007 - Damn, seems like so long ago. $250 for the Wii, and I also bought Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (awful game) and I think one other game, and an extra controller set.

PS3 - June 2011 - 160 GB PS3 and CoD Black Ops bundle = $300. Also, Best Buy had a promotion for a 100 dollar gift card with purchase of a PS3, so I used that to get another controller and Modnation Racers.

3DS XL - August 2012 - $200 included 4 GB memory card. Shortly afterwards, I went to Gamestop and used a Buy 2 Get 1 Free coupon to get Mario Kart 7, 3D Mario Land, and Kid Icarus. Total ~$270
