All seems reasonable.

So the ONE package is a bargain, it's quiet as can be and Sony reps admit the ONE has the best games.

Excellent.

"a Sony dev" =/= "Sony reps", kowenicki.

He sure as hell doesn't represent anyone else.

He represents himself.

There a lot of bullshit in his answers...

The biggest one... Kinect One SDK costs ~$400 and have 2 Kinect One included and the SDK tools... no way it costs more than $150 each.

You are SERIOUSLY wrong about Kinekt2 costs. Try to find a 320*160 tof camera under $500, anywhere. The Kinect2 has a 500*400 tof camera...

@Pemalite
yeap I used it in mass effect too... and I definitely think it's in voice command it's at in games.... and yeah you are right point and click games might be a great platform for motion tracking.... as I have said also.... party games like kun fu chaos could have a cross play with pad or Kinect also....

and if the voice and motion tracking pairing works well you could have some other stuff that works well in those field.... why not harry potter magic spell fighting game :D

RTS could also use motion tracking and voice command.... I could see a halo war 2 using it....

but for menu, I can see people not interested on XB360.... even though I personally experience every day how more convenient and especially faster to navigate the menus are with Kinect than with the pad.... it seems to me that on XB1 it won't be just an option it looks like plain impossible to navigate properly without Kinect.... just to snap apps you'll have to spend like a minute to find the app snap it etc... when you can simply say "xbox snap Skype"... or if you want to switch between TV and gaming or other stuff it will take also for ever....

to me it looks like Kinect 2 will be to Xbox menu navigation what a mouse is to PC navigation..... yeah sure you can do without it and for many things it will be faster, but for some regularly used task it would be a pain in the ass to do without...

when I use my console I'd rather spend less time in menus than doing what I want to, entertainment wise.... Kinect today provides that and Kinect 2 looks like it will be essential on XB1 to do that....

so the question with people who don't want Kinect 2, do they really want to spend more time in menus and on the dashboard than playing just because they decided they don't want to open their mouth and would rather jump through hoops with the pad out of straight stubbornness... I know I won't....

since I'll go DD it will be like that:

"Xbox ON", "Xbox play Killer instinct" "Xbox snap espn" .... in coming call "Xbox snap Skype" (my friend)"hello jo wanna play BF?" me:"sure", "Xbox switch to battlefield" (my friend) "so how is KI" me "it's great, let me show you" "Xbox switch to KI" "Xbox snap twitch" etc.....

see almost never saw the dashboard and spent 99% of the time gaming.... and the pad navigation would have greatly cut that back.... so your choice guys, but I made mine a long time ago.... less dashboard more entertainment.... the choice is yours.....

Answers : 1) Can't comment on this as it's not my area of expertise. But if you compare the failure rates of the launch 360 with the current 360 S. It should give you an idea.

Sorry but...what? Is he thinking there would be some cross generational trend of decreasing failure rate (which is ridiculous since it's completely different architecture) or is he telling me to wait for the revision?

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

did you see titanfall the kinect 2.0 tech? its REALLY impressive and advanced. im searching for 3d depth camera costs and i actually came across and article from 2010 about 3d depth cameras (that mentions the kinect1)  and the costs of some 3D depth cameras there are 12 thousand! but more realistcally i found a site called "softkinect" they sell depth cameras that are more like the kinect, one for 299$ and the other for 249$. they of course profite from them so that doesnt show production price, but the specs are much lower than those of kinect 2.0. coming to think about it, i wouldnt be surprised if the kincet2.0 actually costs more than the console to make

http://www.softkinetic.com/store.aspx here is the link for the site

there also selling these camara's at a massive profit. so i don't see it costing more then 150-200, at most

they are also much much inferior in tech than the kinect

Why is everyone automatically assuming MS is taking a loss now?

Now? It was a no brainer with that tof-chip in Kinect2 that MS loses money for every XBox One, my guess is around $150 for the initial run.

Do you mean Kinect 2 costs $150 or that each Xbone is initially sold at a $150 loss?

If it's the latter I am shocked to learn of this.

Lmao. Go read you posts over the last few months. You'll see who takes this most seriously. All that by gamers, for gamers nonsense. It's marketing. You fell for it hook line and sinker. But then.... It was aimed at you.  I just like arguing with people like you. If you think that's me taking it seriously well then, you're wrong. There is only one aspect of this site I take seriously these days. But I couldn't possibly say what it is.

best you just ignore me Carl, thought I'd say it as the previous hint didn't sink in.

I havent fallen for anything dear, its called having fun. Not taking things too seriously. Its taking the piss and it quite clearly works if you hold onto them words that much

By gamers for gamers. PlayStation <3 Devs. The target wasnt the 360 and 2nd place, its always been the Wii and 1st place. PS3 is the future, now believe. LittleBigPlanet will be huge. Gran Turismo is the definitive racer. PS3 has no games. I blame Wii Fit. Sony releasing an $800 console for $600 proves they love the consumer.

All of the above go hand in hand. I cant believe I actually have to explain it. If you dont notice the link, or if anyone doesnt notice the link, then well, I shake my head.

Its quite hard to ignore so much depression on the forums.

The one thing that gay people can use against straight people when arguing is doing just that i.e calling them dear, or sexy, or limp dick jackass or what have you. Lol
