Forums - Nintendo - Is Ubisoft lying about ZombiU?

Eh, I could see them losing money on ZombiU but not a lot. The game was a Zombie game, those aren't exactly taxing to make, unless they blew most of their cash on the environments which one would doubt would be the case.

Honestly, they probably should have dropped a few actual commercials to show case the game but that is pretty much on Ubisoft and Nintendo for not really pushing it more which is a shame as it is probably the best original retail Wii U game in terms of using the Gamepad.

16 dollars? That means they only get 6 as they pay about 10 for the disc. No sorry I am not going to believe out of 60 the people that front the money make the least amount. 16 dollars would not cover production cost or development cycle.

$10 for an optical disc? Where on Earth are you getting your numbers from? Mass production of a disc with packaging will cost no more than $1, and that's on the expensive side.

Seriously, it's all in the link given to you earlier. Unless you can provide better links and sources, approximately $16 is the most accurate value we have (as to how much revenue publishers get from a $60 game).

It's actually closer to $20.  I've spoken to many publishers through the years and $20 seems to be about the averge rate.  Granted it can indeed fluctuate by several dollars depending on far too many variables to list here.

Important word is approximately

I figured it varied quite a bit and publishers may have negotiated better positions since that article was written fairly early in the gen.

The game didn't live past its first shipment. It's already been in the bargain bins for a long time.

500,000 copies at $25 gives $12.5 million in revenue for a game that probably cost $15 mill + $5-10 mill in marketing.

I believe it lost Ubisoft at least $10 million.

Funny it's still selling for 59.99 here... and apparently moving.. since local shops keep ordering it... along with a lot of Launch Titles for the Wii U.. actually the only game close to bargain bin is 007 Legends.. at about 29.99... so I am not entirely sure if it is bargain bin everywhere... so some of those copies have to be making them some money..  I am not sure what to think of this..

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

probably not selling as fast as they wanted.

oh aome on, the game is cheap as fuck
it looks like a polished Wii game, doubt it cost more than 10m, not even close

Currently vacationing in Colorado, and stopped by the local Gamestop to browse. Saw a single ZombiU on the shelf for $30 used, and asked the guy at the counter if they had any new stock of it in the back. He said they had plenty, but it'd been more than 3 months since they last sold one.

Wouldn't surprise me that other retailers are cutting prices...

You must not actually leave the house much--I have yet to see Zombi U for anything but full price, and it's never in a bargain bin.  You're saying things you want to be true which are based on nothing.

idk where you live, but here in eu/germany the game is permanently reduced to 30€, it says that even in the nintendo eshop ...

if you search online and dont go into a store you can get it even for 25€ or less ...

It's still full price for the US.

no it isnt, Amazon has it for 32.40

It's full price at retail.  Amazon does whatever they want.
