Also, I don't know how the money flowed in the Ubisoft/Nintendo agreement but I was assuming Ubisoft paid development costs. Then they only get part of the revenue. There was a thread on that awhile ago but I don't remember numbers so I'll assume $20 for a $60 game. That would mean they got a max of $10 million if all games were the full $60 which was most likely not the case. So there's that plus whatever Nintendo paid them.

So I don't believe the game was profitable for them either. By how much? No clue, as everything everyone is going by is pure speculation.


I agree with this post. Who really knows what goes on behind the scences? They might be lying,but then again,they might be telling the truth. Who the hell knows for sure?

if i remember correctly, the average cut for a publisher for a 50$ game is bout 20$. 20$x500,000= 10million. The question is "what is a small budget?". When considering, if i remember correctly, gtaIV coxt 50mill to make; 20 million is a pretty small budget. These are just approximate numbers, but, if they are even close to correct, that's about a 50% loss.

16 dollars? That means they only get 6 as they pay about 10 for the disc. No sorry I am not going to believe out of 60 the people that front the money make the least amount. 16 dollars would not cover production cost or development cycle.

Its just bad business and no person who invests, runs a company, whatever would take the risk for such a low pay out. I think some of you are under the impression that publisher are in to make them happy. That is not case.

Target shows $53.99.  Gamestop doesn't seem to carry it new any longer.  No stock online or within 100 miles of my city.  Actually, checking cities across the country it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere.  Makes me suspect they returned their stock to Ubisoft.  They also have it used for $29.99 which doesn't seem to be the case for any other games selling at $60 new.

he's choosing to ignore some online retailers, like Amazon and a few of them associated with them. YOu can go to the online store now and see at least 5 different retailers that are selling it for less than 60 new, so the whole its still new everywhere is flat wrong.

You either haven't played the game or you have questionable taste mate. ZombiU, Lego City Undercover, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Batman Arkham City are all excellent games and worth buying a Wii U for.

It isn't perfect by any means but it demonstrates good use of the GamePad, as do the games I've listed above.
