Fuckin Texas, always ass backwards.

What would you consider progress? Being allowed to 'abort' babies for six months after they're born?

I think this is a fair enough "compromise" for now. Five months (and any sooner), in my opinion, is murder. Also I hope the same people who are against abortion are also against the death penalty. That's the only real pro-life stance.

sounds great. I am for a womens right to choose, not to have sex or to have it protected. there is no need for all the abortions, Especially after 5 months. People make mistakes, but they shouldn't let those mistakes go on for 5 months before they decide to deal with them. I am always amazed by dems that seem to want to force health care on us, but than are fine with killing babies in the beginning of their lives. I dont feel this way for religious reasons either as i am not a religious person. To me its common sense not to kill something that has been growing for 5 months. Its even more common sense that actions have consequences so actions should be thought out so as to avoid said consequences.

I agree fully with this statement. (Except the religious part, I am)

A fetus is not a criminal.

Meh I consider Republicans to be hypocrites in general, so I'm not surprised. Party of "small government" just imposing their will.

One thing that strikes me as funny is they claim to be pro-life. They are pro-birth, not pro-life. They don't give a damn about the child's life or what becomes of the life.

The 20 weeks thing is neither here nor there. What it affects is in these onerous requirements shutting down clinics that a lot of women use for a broad array of health services.

It so often seems like prenatal life is the only life the pro-lifers give a damn about, given their opposition to funding for any health services for the living.

The same can be said for pro choice (only opposite). It's as if they deem the unborn life as irrelevant without remembering that it is a living being in there, not an inaminate object.

20 weeks is great (personally I would set it in the first trimester only), In AUS it ranges from 22weeks to 27weeks, which I think is a joke as the child has a heart beat.

There are so many couple here who can't have kids and want to adopt that is where the unwanted babies should go. Instead they need to adopt them from 3rd world countries because it is almost impossible to adopt locally.

Heartbeats begin around six weeks, brain activity begins around the same point. Lungs are developed far enough to survive outside the womb anywhere from 21 to 26 weeks, typically (though most babies will still need help breathing until about week 35). And there are well-documented occurances of babies born in the 21- to 23-week range that HAVE not only survived birth, but infancy as well.

So, yes. A 20-week ban is an absolute must, and I also would argue that earlier is better.

Here's my opinion... if you legalize abortion, then forced child support should be outlawed.

Or... you could just... not have sex if you're not able to deal with the natural consequences?
