Here's my opinion... if you legalize abortion, then forced child support should be outlawed.

If you're that opposed to paying child support use a condom.

Your solution just encourages irresponsibility on the part of men.

If you're opposed to having a baby then have the guy used a condom.

Your solution just encourages irresponsibility on the part of women.

See? It works both ways.

As I read your OP again, I realized how ridiculous your opinion is.

You're suggesting forced child support should be outlawed because some women choose to have an abortion? That is two completely unrelated things.

So we'll encourage men to be dead beat dads because some women want abortions. God, that's stupid.

They are not unrelated.

And no, basically, shouldn't the child go to the person who supports it? Why should a man be forced to pay for a child the courts do not allow him to see? Isn't it "his" money? I thought this was about rights and all.  If a woman can opt out of responsibility via abortion, then why can't a man opt out?

If a woman doesn't want her baby's daddy to be a dead beat dad...

DON'T HAVE SEX WITH HIM.

You say men should accept the consequences of their actions but women shouldn't?

The part I bolded is not related. Nor are all men kept from seeing their children. That's an issue that can be taken to court if it arises.

Abortion is a solution that rids both parents of any responsibility. Outlawing forced child support only rids the father of responsibility. Your suggestion only punishes the mother for not killeing their baby. Its ridiculous.

Also, you are ignoring many men abandon their families. Believe it or not, there are men who are there early on but eventually stop caring for their kids.

Until a child is born, a baby is just a parasite.

A bit extreme, but a woman should have a right to do whatever the fuck she wants with her body. If that means getting rid of something she doesn't want leeching off her body and making her life a living hell, then she has that right. She also has the right to keep it. Her body, her decision.

And besides, I know humans tend to be very attached to other humans (it's our social nature that helped us evolve and become the dominant species on the planet), but objectively an unborn fetus is as much 'human' as a wad of cancer cells. It has no memories, it has no history, it has no personality, it's just a mass of cells leeching off the mother. It can become a person, but while it's still a fetus, it's just a mass of cells.

When you are asleep and unconscious you could say you're just a mass of cells too.

You have the potential to wake up, have a future and experience being a person, but so does the unborn human.

"Her body" is a weak argument in itself. With that argumentation, if you ignore the interests and rights of the other person (the unborn), you could ignore taking care of your seven year old child or ten year old child and nobody could charge you or blame you because you would just say "it's my body, I never promised anything to this seven year old leech, so one day I decided to stop taking care of it and then it just died lol".

its funny how scientists say bacteria is life but when it comes to the unborn it's just like throwing a plastic doll in the trashcan.

I think murder is murder no matter the circumstance or cause

Abortion is not a solution for both parties because only WOMEN decide it. If the man wants to keep the kid, but the woman does not, it doesn't matter.

And yes, they are related - if a woman can opt out of taking care of a kid, then a man should as well. Women say "It's my body," then men should say "It's my money." By the way, I think men should have to take care of their kids - but that women shouldn't take abortion so lightly (I believe abortion should be legal up to 12 weeks).

It's basically saying, "My body, my rights. Everyone's responsibility." If she and the guy wants to opt out of pregnancy - do not have sex. Simple as that. She has the choice whether or not to have a kid once she has sex. Once she does have sex, she has CHOSEN the possibility of having a kid (as well as the father).

NO abortions for stupid behavior.

Well I don't believe women want to have abortions. So that's a consequence if they don't want to have a baby.

If the woman chooses not abort the child. Well they should both be responsible for that child unless they choose to give it up for adoption.

That's how the argument usually goes. Women should be able to opt out, but not men. Men are "deadbeat dads" when they refuse to take care of their kid (and they are), but women are "fighters" when they kill a 24 week old HUMAN.

The problem is the court system is so biased, men do not have a chance. A man will want to take care of the baby, but the courts will force him away from his kids (he may get like 2 day visitation rights) and then force him to pay half of his paycheck to the mother (not the kid, the mother). That's wrong.
