@oniyide
damn is he reading what I write or just plain trolling ????
that's exactly what I said the community bitching was coming from a minority of hipster early adopters of gaming tech.... not the mass of customer that have no clue yet about next gen and won't be buying until launch or far later in the cycle....
and what you say is not true the only thing we might have not been able to do was sell games at independent retailers.... I'm not saying the DRM policy was great and I have already said I'm going DD in that thread and many more.... but people had no clue on how those policy would turn out to be in the end, we all jumped to conclusion without having the full story....

@WagnerPaiva
that's exactly what I said PC gaming has absolutely no appeal to me anymore.... it has very little gain in graphics quality unless you invest in a decent HTPC system that is gonna be more expensive than a small used car.... I don't call a 4k 24 inch display with a rig at 600 bucks a better gaming rig or graphical advantage compared to a good 50 to 65 1080p display with an XB1 in my living room with a mad 5.1

but oniyide wants to prove me something that nobody has been able to prove since it never came to life... most of us are talking out of our arses when it comes to these rumors me included... but some are just forcing their talent just to add as much negative as they can on a brand over the other..... me I never liked Sony period never hide it and got temp banned for it... but you don't see me run the extra mile to go in PS or sony forums just to diminish all the things I don't like about it.....

@cmeese47

yeah we know corporation are big evil entities that want to take all your cash and then rape you with a gold bar while stealing your wife and kids and sell them on the black market.... some people either watch way too much television or spend way too much time on the wrong political forums....

oh and they kill baby seals every time you log in XBL don't forget that....

Gotta admit, MS did a terrible job with clarity. Gamers assumed the worst and Sony took advantage of that and sealed the deal.

X1's features were before its time. Global internet infrastructure just isn't there yet.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I guess the majority of the people who signed are actually Sony Fans trying to get rid of MS.

Theres nothing ahead of its time about the Xbone. Thats all hype and PC gamers have known about it and have been participating in the luxuries (or lack there of for some people) or years.

The reason DRM had to be fought against is because consumer ownership of their product is one of the few things outside of exclusives, central marketing and other factors that console gaming has over PC gaming. Give a console DRM and its no better than PC gaming. We know what DRM is and how much it restricts. Of course there are games without DRM on PC, but trust me not many people have been given a choice on that side of the track for years. You can have the perks of PC gaming like lowered prices of digital games, but Sony has been doing that a few times now and MS is picking up on it, so theres not really anything to miss out on. Family sharing is a perk for taking your rights away.

Yes.

Th worst news ever this year was that Microsoft was turning their next generation machine into a last gen machine 360,PS3,PS4.

Its a new generation. Not last gen with GDDR5 ram.

Cmon. Officially confirm the choice rumour. I want to opt in to DRM.

Signed for lulz

Seems like Xbox One can only lose. It's beyond my mind why any one would like an always on requirement without any clear advantages.

And yeah, the family sharing thing, how silly are you to believe that you'll be able to share your whole library with 10 people without restrictions? The wanted to implement the DRM to fight piracy and the way you expected the sharing would literally mean they make piracy legal.

If I'd plan to buy a X1 I'd be very happy with their 180 turn, even though I don't think I could trust them, since they don't seem to focus on the traditional gamer since years.

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

I love how "traditional" gamers think they are traditional gamers...... I've been gaming since Atari and commodore heck even had an MO5.... so I think I'm pretty traditional..... but I'm all for innovation and casual and a broader spectrum of entertainment on my gaming rig.... they are not mutually exclusive..... and actually allows me to share my hobby with more people than ever before....

it never has been that easy for gamers to make acceptable the console in the main entertainment spot of the household... parents, wives have a way better perception of gaming console because companies like Nintendo, sony and MS changed the basic use of a console.... Wii made it fun for casuals and older people, Sony made it a great DVD (with PS2) and BR player and Netflix box with PS3.... MS tried new stuff for younger kids to play with and casual as well as entertainment apps that appeal to other crowds than just gamers and therefore makes it a central piece in an entertainment set up not just for gamers....

that being said on the DRM issue I think we didn't have the full story and it was probably not as clear cut as people put it.... because when you really think about it if it was really that negative and the sharing plan was really a scam (you can't just say that plan was BS just because you don't see how it could have worked, that's pure conjecture with absolutely no solid ground) I don't see how MS was planning to make it appealing to customers at launch....
it'd be like openly saying I'll rent you a car but without the wheels and they are custom made so you can only buy them through me..... there is no way that it was the plan, it doesn't make commercial sense with or without the public backlash.... so yeah I'm dead convinced their was more to it than what we know now that would have been incentive for us to accept the DRM plan....
