what does it mean that it Outputs in 1080p and Renders in 720p??

The actual image is rendered internally at 720x1280, but when it's output to the television it's resized to fit a 1080x1920 pixel display.

Just like every other WiiU game.

Or PS3/360 game pretty much.

Thanks.

No more purple Pikmin in the story mode?

I suppose it's better. As strong as they were, they removed that fear factor whenever you found a big enemy.

they're still there, just look for the video.

Not quite all; some render below that (Black Ops II, 720x880 native) and some above. (Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, 1080x1920 native)

Pikmin looks great, I cannt wait for this or the w101...

Btw... even though I did listen to this song a few times already, I never tried to read the lyrics... so sad for a beautiful game...

That was beautiful, but so many goddamn feels!

Wow we finally got some real information on this game. It seems like this was under warps for a long time. The online leaderboards seem such a waste of time though. After playing through Goldeneye's online and its leaderboards it is just worthless. Not only do people cheat and destroy its whole purpose but just when you think you are good in pikmin some no life (I mean someone with lots of time in their hands) just completely obliterates you. Real online muiltplayer would be much better

However as much as I like purple pikmin in story mode they are overpowered like you can destroy bosses within seconds overpowered. Than we have white pikmin who are the opposite and are worthless outside of finding treasure and sacrificing them to destroy your enemies. Nintendo promotes sacrifices!

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

That is true, but I was referring to the 1080p output. It's being mentioned like a feature but the WiiU outputs every game @ 1080p, even Wii games.

It hurts, but in Pikmin 1 you HAD to sacrifice Pikmin in order to survive.

Only if you were weaksauce.

Online multiplayer doesn't hold much value at all for me.
Monster Hunter Tri is the only game I've ever played where the online didn't just feel like "local multiplayer minus the fun".

Heh, so we're like opposites, as I'd rather play with random people I don't have to interact with socially than with my "friends," not that I could even get them to play half the games I do.

You don't like to interact with your friends? O.o

I would if I could actually call them friends. =/
