MINECRAFT: XBOX 360 EDITION, the ridiculously selling game on Xbox Live and ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW LEAF on the 3DS were both released in the same period, yet they failed to grab the number one spot.

Those are good, well selling games on systems that have good install bases in the UK.

Minecraft is just the retail version of a 1 year old digital game. Nobody thought that it's going to light up the charts (especially in regions where internet is widely available).
Especially after it did 98k first week in the US.

Last of us was just an awesome game, probably one of the top games this generation for me. Even though i was hyped for it, it didnt let me down (unlike Bioshock).

Hope it can do a few more weeks at number 1, even if sales are dropping, still nice for it to be in the number 1 spot for a bit longer.

Not sure what big games are coming out for a bit now, maybe Saints Row in August? Don't recall anything else, so theres a good chance it could stay there a little longer.

Mmm. We used to get UK & USA software + global hardware on a Friday iirc, then we'd get the rest of it on a Sunday/Monday. Things seem pretty slow these days, and it's a shame, because sales numbers is why I signed up here!
