Low price is only an advantage if the perceived value is there. That is what will determine this generations winner. If I charge $1 for a bag of my own urine, it doesn't have an advantage over the Wii U just by virtue of being cheaper, because there is no concept of value for it. Price alone doesn't matter.

what's the problem with you? of course there is perceived value but for the average consumer they only see a videogame. some may do some research but in the end all consoles will have it's great games so when it comes to price they will tend towards wii u.

I'll try explaining the first part again: THE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT PRICE ALONE (AVERAGE CONSUMER) WILL FAVOUR WII U. THAT ISN'T TO SAY WII U WILL BE THE WHOLE MARKET FAVOURITE BECAUSE OF THAT ALONE. BUT IN THAT REGARD, IT WILL BE FAVOURED.

They don't need to do research. The pros of each system will be heavily advertised, and will likely be written directly on the frickin box. You seem to think that the general population is just going to assume all platforms are equal and just pick the cheapest option. Which has never been the case for any console. Ever.

you know this how? whats stopping them from just throwing an extra 50 toward the WIi U, since the price isnt that different. Those looking for an 8th gen console, they have one, its called Wii u and has been selling like molasses, and its the cheapest, but they are still not buying it, so what now? And no ALL consoles are in competition with each other. Doenst matter the gen, as long as they fight for shelf space they fight for dollars

It doesnt matter if there late adopter or not, average consumer doesnt compare consoles by generation. If they are looking for the best value they will get a Wii/360/PS3 over a Wii U. 

which is what they have been doing for months, but he is living in a universe where WIi U and the cheaper consoles dont sell in the same stores

Ya his arguments are all over the place going from price to games to value to generation as reason they arent in competition with one another. Nobody likes being wrong and I understand defending things u enjoy but at some point he needs to realize hes not making much sense.

That wont be an advantage over PS360, at least for another year.

if you insist so much,it will be even worse for ps4/xone for at least another 2 years.
