the average consumer WILL favour the cheapest option, and that is an advantage for wii u.

*Sigh*

"I'm not saying it will be favourite by default just because of the lower price"

"the average consumer WILL favour the cheapest option"

Not even sure what to tell you at this point. Just keep believing whatever makes you happy I guess.

what's so hard to understand? the average consumer will definetely be atracted by the lower price and that's an advantage. that by itself won't guarantee absolute success but it's already a battle won.

You said it won't be the favorite because it's the cheapest, yet it will be favored because it's the cheapest. That statement is blatantly hypocritical. Not sure why you're having trouble comprehending that.

Low price is only an advantage if the perceived value is there. That is what will determine this generations winner. If I charge $1 for a bag of my own urine, it doesn't have an advantage over the Wii U just by virtue of being cheaper, because there is no concept of value for it. Price alone doesn't matter.

not to mention that their are still 3 other consoles that will still be on the market and they will be cheaper, but seems he's ignoring that.

you're the one in denial. wii u's situation is not connected to competition from ps360 and wii, those 3 consoles could be doing better or worse than now and wii u would still be selling like crap. it only need the games.

that contradicts your stance on saying people will favor the cheaper consoles. Are they NOT favoring the cheaper consoles now? Looking the the charts they sure are. Cant have it both ways. There is no season where people favor cheaper consoles than others, its all the time thing.

your trolling regarding this started long ago. whoever is still buying wii's or ps360's are late adopters that wouldn't buy a wii u/ps4/xone anyway. thus those people were never potential buyers for wii u and among it's true competition (ps4/xone), it is the cheapest and those looking FOR A 8TH GEN CONSOLE will favour the cheapest.

what's the problem with you? of course there is perceived value but for the average consumer they only see a videogame. some may do some research but in the end all consoles will have it's great games so when it comes to price they will tend towards wii u.

I'll try explaining the first part again: THE PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT PRICE ALONE (AVERAGE CONSUMER) WILL FAVOUR WII U. THAT ISN'T TO SAY WII U WILL BE THE WHOLE MARKET FAVOURITE BECAUSE OF THAT ALONE. BUT IN THAT REGARD, IT WILL BE FAVOURED.

No people buying on price alone will favor Wii, PS3, 360

I agree with u that games are the most important facor but those other consoles games/pricr factor into it as well.

Imagine a random 25 year old shopping for a new console with no bias towards any of the consoles. He sees a 250gb 360 bundled w/Darksiders 2+Arkham City, 500gb PS3 w/Assassins Creed 3 for $299 or 32gb Wii U w/Nintendo Land for $349. Also he sees that Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Rising, Dead Space 3, Bioshock Infinite, DMC, Colonial Marines, Gears of War, God of War, Last of Us, Halo 4 are on PS3/360 and Wii U has Lego City and NSMBU. He is likely to pick PS360 due to price/games.

Or a mother buying a console for her 2 kids aged 5-10. She sees a $129 Wii w/Wii Sports+Sports Resort vs. $349 Wii U w/Nintendo Land. Also Wi has Wii Fit, Mario Kart, NSMB, Zumba, which are games that appeal not only to her kids but her as well. While again Wii U has Lego City and NSMBU but are those 2 games worth an extra $200? Probably not.

So overall Wii U needs big games to release and it has those later this year but anytime a consumer picks a different console its taking away a potential sale from Wii U.

but those people aren't potential buyers for neither wii u nor ps4/xone in the near future, those are late adopters. the 250 M+ that already have a 7th gen console and want to upgrade as well as those who don't own a console but don't mind paying more for the latest.

It doesnt matter if there late adopter or not, average consumer doesnt compare consoles by generation. If they are looking for the best value they will get a Wii/360/PS3 over a Wii U.

I already answered but just complementing. ps360 and wii are in the end of their lifes and hundreds of millions of people already got one. so the only ones that would consider buying them right now are the ones who wouldn't buy wii u/ps4/xone anyway.

But thats not true, people buying consoles are doing it for the games/value. PS360 are close enough to Wii U in price to be direct competitors. Like I said in another post they all have $300 skus.

360 w/Kinect+Kinect Adventures-$299

250gb 360 w/Darksiders 2+Arkham City-$299

500gb PS3 w/Assassins Creed 3-$299

8gb Wii U w/no game-$299

Plus PS360 games released in the past 8 months DMC, Dead Space, Tomb Raider, Bioshock, Metro, Colonial Marines, Injustice, Dead Island, Metal Gear Rising, God of War, Gears of War, Last of Us, Halo 4 vs. NSMBU, Nintendo Land, ZombiU, Lego City.

U cant assume that every person buying a 7th gen console isnt considering a Wii U. Someboday who has had a Wii for the past 5 years and wants to upgrade would consider Wii U, PS3, 360 or someone that has a 360 and wants a 2nd console would consider PS3/Wii U. Whichever has the best value for the price they are offered at and has the most appealing games will sell the most.
