Finally no more BS and just straight to the point.

If Wii U ever sells well enough I'm sure they'll bring the next Battlefield or whatever else they're making to the platform. Now the ball is on Nintendo's quarter to sell some consoles.

You're just swallowing the new BS that they decided to stick with.......

No, EA is a business and they'll go where money is. If Nintendo paid them enough cash (and I'm talking higher than they got for Titanfall), then even Battlefield could be exclusive to Wii U. EA doesn't have this make believe relationship with MS/Sony that makes them not publish on Nintendo platforms. It's either MS/Sony pays them to get their stuff on their platform (and keep it exclusive) or its that their software sells on the aforementioned platforms because their target audience is on those platform. That's just how it goes.

PS4 and Xbox One has no gamers currently. If youre saying they were paid to bring those games to those systems then i would suggest they were also paid by Sony/Microsoft to bash the Wii U. The only third party that tries to bring their games to all consoles equally from a BUSINESS perspective is Activision. I dont think its a mere coincidence that they back tracked on their statements now that they are changing their Origin online pass strategy because Microsoft is not doing DRM. What they are basically doing now is telling us what we all knew all along (Wii U can run Frostbite 3 and UE4)

I don't think it's so much as EA being paid to bring their games to PSONE (lol) as it is the fact that EA's main games have sold best on PS360. So I am assuming they are making a bet that the same audience who bought the PS360 will return to the PSONE and won't migrate away to the Wii U or other platforms. I don't think by any means that EA handled the Wii U in a good manner, especially how they said certain engines couldn't run on the machine when they could run on current gen platforms. I do agree with you that it could have been due to their partnership with MS. I mean they are heavily partnering with MS this upcoming gen with exclusive content to even a huge AAA exclusive game which is unheard of in this day and age. So there is likely some connection there since they are probably receiving boatloads of money from MS. I would laugh though if they indeed partnered with MS due to their DRM policies and then got screwed over later when MS ended up backtracking. That would be hilarious. Guess we'll never know.

If thats the case why would they alienate the potential audience on Wii U by making obvious contradicting, trollish statements about the hardware? Thats not a very good business practice and they risk losing the little market on Wii U for nothing? There is no doubt in my mind they made those statements to build hype for PS4 and Xbox One. I dont know any intelligent business man that would alienate a fanbase and potential sales for no reason. They have to be getting something out of it (Either the DRM partnership or directly paid to bash the console to build hype).

Tbh I think we all get the basic gist of EA's statement on FB2 and what they were trying to imply, a combination of the DRM reversal and Disney has more then likely put EA on the spot in a situation where they probably had a lot of eggs in one basket.

what about disney? I know they own star wars now but do they have a say in EA's general business?

there is no market for multiplatform games on Nintendo platforms, even if they turn WiiU to success, this ship sailed generations ago.

I expect after this Christmas even Ubisoft will terminate any support

butthurt, butthurt everywhere.

Another day, another U turn from EA.

maybe nintendo foresaw this from thirds and that's the reason for the name Wii U :P

Now, if they had said as such from the beginning, we could have avoided so much hate on this site.

Low priority?
I guess an install base of 5 million is too low for their games...
so they bet on 2 consoles which have an install base of.... wait.... 0..... theyre not released yet.

Well played EA.

5 million? Sorry, that's not even close.

As for the new systems, their games have a history of selling well on previous systems, and have large followings from fans on those systems. It's not too much of a stretch.

4 million is close to 5 million :P

According to VGChartz, it's still around 3.2 million. So even 4 million is pretty optimistic. And being off by a million isn't that close when you only have four to spare...or are you joking?

by the time EA's main 2013 games release, wii u installed base will be about 5M

they focusing where the gamers are? those two consoles have no units sold yet in people's hands lol.

lol, that's exactly what I mentioned somwhere else.

Based on the way these types of games, it's pretty reasonable to say that they'll perform better on the XBox One and PS4, but it would be nice if EA would give the Wii U a real shot.

Perhaps. That's only a guess on your part, though. And that 5 million figure, which you hold as an estimate for future sales was being used as a comparison to the sales of the XboxOne and Playstation4 in the present.  It's unreasonable to assume one and not the other.

Even so, there are other factors that discourage EA from investing in the platform. Because they also face competition from a massively dominant first-party publisher in Nintendo, it's reasonable to assume they could find their games muscled-out to a far greater degree than on other platforms. This is especially the case since their games don't find the degree of success on Nintendo platforms as the do on others, even when the install base is markedly higher.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Na, they must be hating Nintendo after all this is what vgchartz as taught me, it's not like their games don't sell enough and that's why they are not porting anything anymore

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
