I'm gonna wait until someone has actually written a useful exploit for it before I start caring.

It's also a great example of how certain individuals on this forum dropped the ball on this. No threads yet proclaiming that PC is dead. Guess we'll have to wait a few days until this news reaches mainstream. Can't wait for major news outlets and their readers completely misinterpreting each and every bit of information we have.

To be honest I am waiting on the PC doom threads. Only so I can crack some knuckles and own some newbs.

Those exploits are worrying, but I'm more worried by the fact that I read the MSoft had launched a patch, and when I checked Windows Update I found it's not working.

Now I'll have to find out what's happened and how to fix it :-/.

I got issued a patch today.

vivster said:

Even the final patches might be much worse than without. I have not yet heard any concrete information about actual risk for end consumers so as far as I'm concerned all this shit is just hot air that will just fuck up everything for no reason.

The biggest risk is for professional environments... ESPECIALLY those running VM.
And... Android. - So many phone vendors don't aggressively update the Android OS, meaning we could be looking at 1+ billion devices that never get patched.

With that, Intels stocks are dropping, even Intel CEO sold all his shares once the news broke out.
This could be a big win for AMD if they play their cards right.

A €2 million ($2.42 million) grant slated to fund Spanish indie developers is now dead in the water.
According to a report from El Español (translated by Polygon), Àlvaro Nadal, Spain's minister of energy, tourism, and digital agenda, cancelled the grant for unspecified reasons. The decision comes just one week before a presentation by DEV, a Spanish videogame association, on the state of the industry.

>>As someone from Spain I can tell you that this is true, but also that the minister has already backpedaled and the funds will be granted as usual.

2K Games announced earlier this week that the Cree, led by Pîhtokahanapiwiyin—or Poundmaker, as he's more widely known—are being added to Civilization 6 in the upcoming Rise and Fall expansion. That does not sit well with the leader of the real-world Poundmaker Cree Nation, who told CBC News that the game's portrayal of Indigenous people is "very harmful," and based far more on Hollywood than on actual history.

Rxcovery is a turn-based RPG about Ezo, an unconscious patient in a hospital I wouldn't recommend, and Recovery, an android nurse who's handy in a fight. Ezo is on life support, but his insurance will only pay for another 30 minutes of treatment. Unless he collects $400,000 in 30 minutes, he's dead. Thankfully, the powers that be accept Dream Dollars, which Ezo can earn in his sleep.

Hi-Rez president explains why 'Battlegrounds' name was chosen for Paladins' new mode
http://www.pcgamer.com/hi-rez-president-explains-why-battlegrounds-name-was-chosen-for-paladins-new-mode/
Yesterday at Hi-Rez Expo 2018, free-to-play hero shooter Paladins: Champions of the Realm announced a new battle royale mode named Paladins: Battlegrounds. In the face of the rising trend, more games are adding similar modes to their makeup, however this one's name raised a few eyebrows—given how closely it reflects PUBG Corp's megahit PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
Now, Hi-Rez Studios president Stew Chisam has explained why he and his team opted for 'Battlegorunds' over, say, battle royale, or a similar appendage.

It's now time to check what deals we'll be able to find at GOG and Steam this weekend:

And that's all. For those of you that celebrate the Three Wise Men, I hope you get a lot of new stuff, and for all of you, I wish you a happy and gaming weekend.

Oh it'll happen. Likely from that guy who posted about Steam removing a Japanese game from Steam last month.

While you're waiting though, some misinformation waits you : http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8680662 (thread is locked though).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I guess that was their open invitation to hackers. We should've seen this sooner.

Sounds like whoever was meant to pick up on it, did, and such perfect timing. New CPU competition that is forcing Intel to up their game and potentially create/release a market disrupting CPU that clears up these security issues while also vastly outperforming Ryzen, would be oh so convenient.

Claimed it. And apparently I totally forgot about humble. It's basically the best source for my gift shop. So many cheap keys to give away.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Humble monthly been pretty good recently the full unlocks from last month turned out very good also.

- Quantum break
- The Long Dark
- Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War III
- Tomb Raider (2013)
- Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition
- Hiveswap: Act 1
- Mr Shifty
- Cursed Castilla (Maldita Castilla EX)

I think I've got another 2 monthly bundles left on my sub and I'm almost certain I will renew it another year, Not only have there been some great games but the 10% you save on all other games bought through the store can really add up after discounts and credit back on each purchase, and not to forget the part that goes to charity :)
