I'm gonna wait until someone has actually written a useful exploit for it before I start caring.

It's also a great example of how certain individuals on this forum dropped the ball on this. No threads yet proclaiming that PC is dead. Guess we'll have to wait a few days until this news reaches mainstream. Can't wait for major news outlets and their readers completely misinterpreting each and every bit of information we have.

To be honest I am waiting on the PC doom threads. Only so I can crack some knuckles and own some newbs.

Those exploits are worrying, but I'm more worried by the fact that I read the MSoft had launched a patch, and when I checked Windows Update I found it's not working.

Now I'll have to find out what's happened and how to fix it :-/.

I got issued a patch today.

Even the final patches might be much worse than without. I have not yet heard any concrete information about actual risk for end consumers so as far as I'm concerned all this shit is just hot air that will just fuck up everything for no reason.

The biggest risk is for professional environments... ESPECIALLY those running VM.
And... Android. - So many phone vendors don't aggressively update the Android OS, meaning we could be looking at 1+ billion devices that never get patched.

With that, Intels stocks are dropping, even Intel CEO sold all his shares once the news broke out.
This could be a big win for AMD if they play their cards right.
