http://www.pcgamer.com/final-fantasy-14-is-being-hammered-by-a-ddos-attack/
If you've been having trouble connecting to Final Fantasy 14 over the past several days, there is a reason. And that reason, according to Square Enix, is jerks on the internet.

>>Very good definition.

Ubisoft confirms that Skull and Bones will have a single-player 'narrative campaign'
http://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-confirms-that-skull-and-bones-will-have-a-single-player-narrative-campaign/
Ubisoft said when it announced the high-seas swashbuckling sim Skull and Bones that the game will support both solo and co-op play—"Raid the Hunting Grounds alone or group with other players to hunt larger prey," to be precise—but the focus was clearly on the multiplayer side of things. For those of you who don't like to share the booty, or get ganked by tricked-out frigates, there will be a proper single-player campaign included as well.

>>And thanks to that, the game is now on my radar.

New balance changes are coming to Team Fortress 2 in a 'major update'
http://www.pcgamer.com/new-balance-changes-are-coming-to-team-fortress-2-in-a-major-update/
Videogames that are a decade old tend to be pretty well locked-down, which is a nice way of saying that their developers stopped paying attention to them years ago. Not so with Team Fortress 2, however. Valve announced in a TF2 blog post that new balance changes are coming to the game in a "major update," and this time around it's actually telling people about the update before it goes live.

Darkest Dungeon to make Curios less threatening following Crimson Court DLC
http://www.pcgamer.com/darkest-dungeon-to-make-curios-less-threatening-following-crimson-court-dlc/
Darkest Dungeon is one of the hardest, most infuriating and yet most fantastic games I've ever played. For me, its deference to challenge and perseverance in order to achieve success is unmatched—even compared to other notoriously difficult games like, say, Dark Souls—which makes the former bearable against the latter. The game's Curios, however, at times verge upon unfair, which in turn threatens to compromising the game's otherwise deft risk/reward balance.

So, the Steam Summer Sale will start in about an hour and I want to know how you feel about it. And there's nothing better for that, that some internet gifs.

So, are you...

1) Excited about it?

2) Simply happy that it's happening

3) Trying to be excited (and mostly failing)

4) Kind of meh

5) Oh, God, not again

I'm actually between 3 and 4.

 Trying to be exited but...

I'm more for #3 and #4. The Steam sales aren't what they used to be with flash and daily deals being wiped away. Now it's set prices that hardly ever change throughout the whole sale, so in essence I only need to check on my wishlist once or two for the whole sale and never need to check it again.

I'm also more excited for GMG and other key seller sales than I am for Steam, as they can go lower than Steam these days.

Agree ^^

Good thing is with this format we buy less. The old sales really got impulsive purchases out of consumers. Were more exiting though.

Aye, I do miss those days because I actually had to stay calm and collect when looking through every single deal, heck I had to watch TotalBiscuit's daily deal videos to make sure I was making the right moves, it actually made the deals both more enticing and fun to look out for. Now we have set deals for the whole duration of the sales and you need only check your wishlist once, twice tops.

I mean it does save money on my end because I end up passing on a good chunk of the sales, instead opting for a gander at GMG to see if they have anything lower, then snatching up what I can find.

^I also miss the old days, even if sometimes the flash deals were a PITA because they happened whil I was sleeping (mostly during weekends). Nowadays it's more boring, but it also avoids impulse purchases.

I hope that's a joke, or that you can have that "fixed" by tomorrow.

In a job I had, I used to connect to Steam through a web browser to check the flash sales and vote the upcoming deals, and I once closed the browser without login out. Once I arrived at home, I couldn't connect to Steam because I already had an open session. I wasn't very happy with myself.

On a side note: I miss when we could vote which game would go on a flash sale. Valve could have kept that feature at least.
