It's a 6850k with a Noctua NH-D15.

B) I knew your CPU (you wrote late yesterday/early today that you found a replacement CPU, mentioning how you thought it was more expensive when it wasn't), but I didn't remember your CPU cooler. Maybe you mentioned it when you did your last build, but there's been a lot of posts and threads since then with people posting their hardware, and my memory isn't that good. In any case, that's a good, and heavy, cooler.

No wonder it died... The color scheme on the Noctua gave it cancer :P

But yea, that sucks! Hopefully you get it by tomorrow and be able to join us for the steam sale!

Why did intel make two horrible CPUs(i5-7640X & i7-7740K) for the expensive motherboard X299? The spec is way off almost like a brand new car with only two wheels, and some dude did actually pre-order the i5-7640X and he's looking for cheaper X299 motherboard real hard..

Only need about half/quarter the size of a pea smack-dab in the center of the CPU.

Arctic Silver is my go-to. I also use Arctic Silver Thermal Compound Remover and Surface Purifier as well.

Because Intel were idiots. They should have used some cut-down Skylake-X chips.
