Come on Valve, get those sodding servers sorted out jeez, you've got more than enough money to makes things smoother each year.

C'mon! Steam is there to make them money. Do you really think Valve will actually spend money and time to fix something that has been happening since the first Steam Sales?

Please excuse my bad English.

y-yes

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Never seen Amazon take so long to send a tiny package. That's 4 days tomorrow. They better give me the fucking discount because while they were sitting on their asses it dropped down to 478€.

I really need my PC to work this weekend. Need to grind ladder in RL before the season ends.

GPU's are skyrocketing in price. Some are almost 50% AUD more expensive. It's nuts!
After Bitcoiners sucked up all the GPU stocks, retailers and importers are slowly getting more stock in but whacking a big extra chunk on the price.

Glad I got the crappy Radeon RX 580 when I did. Haha.

Bright side is... The second hand market should be inundated with GPU's in 6+ months time. Had one bloke on another forum spend $86 grand on GPU's...

Wha... He must be making a lot of money from mining if he can afford so many GPUs. At least the mining crazy is now affecting Nvidia too, and not only AMD.

Also, you'll be able to resell your 580 without losing too much money... or even making some!

Couldn't believe it when he showed everyone the invoice. Haha
A few stores have started bringing in a 1 GPU per household policy.

Whether I sell it or not depends on Vega. It needs to hurry up. Otherwise I'll just give it to my grandmother.

Vega will allegedly launch around Siggraph, so in about 35-40 days.

But they will be quite power hungry:

MSI: ‘Damn, [RX Vega] needs a lot of power’

At Tweakers forums, you can find a message from MSI marketing director, who admits to having seen the RX Vega specs. Here’s what he had to say (translated):

I’ve seen the specs of Vega RX. It needs a damn lot of power. We’re working on it, which is a start so launch is coming closer :)

I'm fine with high power consumption, as long as it brings the goods. It's winter anyway.

Considering Vega is released for the vast majority of consumers in the middle of summer it's time to buy fire insurance.

I think the top liquid-cooled Vega could be the FX-9000 of GPUs in an attempt to compete with the 1080 Ti, but I don't think the other designs are going to be as demanding as that one. Besides, someone at MSI is probably without a job right now haha.

I wonder if AMD will start to use Infinity Fabric for GPUs after Vega, it seems to have worked very well for AMD with Zen (which basically designed one chip and could focus its R&D money on performance). Maybe with Navi, since I guess Vega 11 and Vega 20 are pretty advanced designs already.

By the way, my GTX 970 has been disappointing me in a few titles, maybe I'll have to upgrade before 7 nm unlike what I initially expected. If only the Volta GPUs weren't going to be obviously so expensive... good times when their "104" chip was the GTX -60 cards, such as my previous GTX 460.
