The gaming news. As you may know, this weekend has been busy with announcements, and that shows with the amount of articles. Even DSOG, that usually has barely one page of news, has five.
So, here’s how the gaming news will be today: there will be at least four (still a WIP) posts, two for DSOG and two for PCGamer. In the first post of each you’ll find the NEW announed games, while the second one will have the rest of the articles.
And with that intro out of the way, let’s go with the Monday gaming news:
SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS
GOG has a couple of deals for us:
Steam has… well, I don’t know how many deals because I can’t tell apart the new ones from the old ones. So, until there’s a change, it will be only the sales/events:
We’ll find three deals at Humble:
And Fanatical has these:
SOFTWARE & DRIVERS
AMD Adrenalin 26.6.1 fixes RPCS3 shader issue on RDNA3 and RDNA4 GPUs
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-adrenalin-26-6-1-fixes-rpcs3-shader-issue-on-rdna-3-and-rdna-4-gpus
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.1 includes an unlisted fix for RPCS3, the PlayStation 3 emulator. According to the RPCS3 team, the driver resolves a shader compilation issue affecting Radeon GPUs based on RDNA 3 and RDNA 4 architectures.
The problem reportedly appeared with Adrenalin 26.3.1 and remained present until the new 26.6.1 release. AMD published the 26.3.1 driver on March 19, 2026, while 26.6.1 was posted on June 2, 2026.

Godot devs are getting a helping hand from Microsoft to bring their games to Xbox on PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/godot-devs-are-getting-a-helping-hand-from-microsoft-to-bring-their-games-to-xbox-on-pc/
Although many developers turn to Unreal Engine or Unity to bring their gaming visions to life, open-source Godot is becoming increasingly popular, thanks to its lightweight structure and intuitive scripting language. Now Microsoft has taken a 'first step' to expanding its user base even further, by releasing a reference sample software package for creating Godot games for Xbox on PC.
(...)
Instead, it's essentially a demonstration of how to implement all of the necessary Xbox on PC requirements (such as Xbox services, PlayFab, and GameInput) in a Godot-based game.
"This sample shows you how to bring sign-in, gamepad controller support capabilities and more into your game with Godot. It includes insights, re-usable integration code, and is currently compatible with the April 2026 GDK out of the box," writes Microsoft in its dev blog post.
GOG apologizes for emailing Nazi runes to its followers
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/gog-apologizes-for-emailing-nazi-runes-to-its-followers/
GOG has apologized for a "Slavic adventure" newsletter sent out today that featured a number of very distinct Nazi runes in its subject line.
To be clear, this is not a misunderstanding, or images that look kind of alike, or a misinterpretation of an ambiguous situation: That's a Sonnenrad, a kolovrat, and the extremely unmistakable double Siegrune of the SS—quite possibly second only to the swastika as the most distinctive emblem of the Nazi regime. From my own email:
**pic**
This is not a small mistake. As PC Gamer's Kara Philips put it, "There's messing up, and then there's whatever this is." So, the obvious question: how the hell did this happen?
"We are sorry for today's newsletter," GOG wrote in an apology on X. "We made a series of mistakes: We created an unfortunate visual association by placing the runes incorrectly, we used the wrong logo for The End of the Sun, we did not check the display of the newsletter on mobile devices—which came out worse—and we didn't port the feedback from our German QA to other languages."
Indie devs mixed on Steam's latest redesign over visibility complaints
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/indie-devs-mixed-on-steams-latest-redesign-over-visibility-complaints/
The latest Steam store redesign is here, and while the majority of you have "no strong feelings" about it so far according to our poll, it's a different story on social media—some indie developers are worried that the new "Popular Upcoming" page, which prioritizes games with more buzz than it did previously, will hurt indie visibility.
MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Just Got a First-Person Mod on PC
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/marvels-spider-man-2-just-got-a-first-person-mod-on-pc/
Now here is something cool. Modder ‘Pcniado’ has just released a first-person mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This mod will let you play the entire game via a first-person camera. So, if you’ve always wanted to experience the game in FP, you can download and try the mod.
By default, this first-person mod can feel disorienting and may even make some players feel sick. However, it includes several options that can make the experience more comfortable. For example, you can stop the camera from following Spider-Man’s head movements. You can also disable roll and pitch effects, and adjust a rotation-smoothing slider to make camera movement feel smoother.
At the end of the article, you can find two videos. Sadly, both of them have most of the head rotation settings enabled. As such, swinging and fighting enemies feel kind of bad. It’s a cool experiment for those who have mastered the game. But for the average Joe, this is a mod that will make the game a lot harder.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 came out on PC in January 2025, and it was an OK PC port. While it had its issues, it was not a disaster. On high-end PC systems, the game could run great, even at native resolutions. However, there were numerous issues with low-end GPUs.
Anyway, those interested can download the mod from this link. Before getting it, I suggest watching the videos. As I said, though, this first-person mode may cause some to throw up. So, consider this your warning.
