The not so long part two of the gaming news:

Former Forza Horizon creative director reveals his studio's debut racer, which is still alive despite losing Amazon support
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/racing/former-forza-horizon-creative-director-reveals-his-studios-debut-racer-which-is-still-alive-despite-losing-amazon-support/
It did not look like a happy ending was in the cards for Maverick Games when Amazon ended its publishing deal for the studio's in-development racing game earlier this year. But that assessment may have been premature, as the studio has now unveiled its debut project, Clutch, and has a full trailer coming in the Summer Game Fest showcase on June 5.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis delayed into 2027, but there's a new gameplay trailer to make up for it
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/tomb-raider-legacy-of-atlantis-delayed-into-2027-but-theres-a-new-gameplay-trailer-to-make-up-for-it/
A lot of what's happening at today's Sony State of Play showcase doesn't directly impact us, thanks to Sony's decision to cut back on PC game releases, but this one does: A new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and also a release date that's a bit of a delay from what we expected.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, "a complete reimagining of the 1996 original Tomb Raider" done up in the new technology of Unreal Engine 5, was initially intended to be out this year. But during today's showcase, the release date was set for February 12, 2027, a couple months past that deadline.

Now that we're living in a KPop Demon Hunters and Jujutsu Kaisen world, yokai-smiting action game Kemuri should be a slam dunk
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/now-that-were-living-in-a-kpop-demon-hunters-and-jujutsu-kaisen-world-yokai-smiting-action-game-kemuri-should-be-a-slam-dunk/
It's been a long two-and-a-half years of silence since a cinematic teaser for Kemuri hinted at what it would be about: hunting mythical demons in dense urban environments. Much of the interest in the game came from studio founder Ikumi Nakamura, who cut her teeth at Capcom and made herself known during a presentation for Tango Gameworks' Ghostwire: Tokyo. At Sony's State of Play today we finally got a chance to see what Kemuri really looks like, and dare I say it's kinda Suicide Squad, but... cool?

Funcom is adding a singleplayer mode to Dune: Awakening, and wow, the new features are definitely gonna bring me back to the game
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/funcom-is-adding-a-singleplayer-mode-to-dune-awakening-and-wow-the-new-features-are-definitely-gonna-bring-me-back-to-the-game/
We reported just a couple weeks ago that Dune: Awakening's director Joel Bylos didn't really consider the survival sandbox to be an MMO. And to double down on that, today we learned that Funcom is adding a new singleplayer mode in September.

Bandai Namco just stealth announced that one of the coolest Ace Combat games is coming to PC for the first time as a pre-order freebie
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/bandai-namco-just-stealth-announced-that-one-of-the-coolest-ace-combat-games-is-coming-to-pc-for-the-first-time-as-a-pre-order-freebie/
In a blink-and-you'd-miss-it announcement at Sony's State of Play on Tuesday, a game about Norse mythology—not the new God of War—slipped in between the louder and longer trailers for third-person action games. That game was Ace Combat Zero. It is 20 years old, and later this year it will be only the third game in the long-running series to arrive on PC.
Bandai Namco is offering up a port of Ace Combat Zero as a pre-order incentive for folks who splurge on the deluxe edition of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, which is out on both PS5 and Steam on October 1. It was originally a PS2 game, and has never gotten any sort of HD remaster treatment, let alone a PC release. Presumably it'll also be available for sale separately from the pack-in giveaway alongside AC8, and despite its age it may actually be the Ace Combat I'm more excited to play.

SOFTWARE & DRIVERS

NVIDIA GeForce 610.47 Driver Brings Stutters to G-Sync Owners, Completely Breaks Smooth Motion
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/nvidia-geforce-610-47-driver-brings-stutters-to-g-sync-owners-completely-breaks-smooth-motion/
Last month, NVIDIA released its latest driver for its graphics cards, the NVIDIA GeForce 610.47 driver. That driver also added some settings for DLSS 5, though there is currently no way to enable it. However, it appears that this driver has also introduced some annoying bugs and issues.
Let’s start with the most important one. From the looks of it, the NVIDIA GeForce 610.47 driver brings stutters on owners of G-Sync monitors. According to reports, when you enable G-Sync, you get an extremely unstable framerate with stutters.
The good news is that there’s a workaround for this issue. The downside is that it requires completely disabling G-Sync. As a result, G-Sync users currently have two options: they can either roll back to the previous driver or continue using the latest driver with G-Sync turned off.
The other bug that was introduced with the NVIDIA GeForce 610.47 driver is related to Smooth Motion. According to numerous reports, NVIDIA users are crashing to the desktop as soon as they enable Smooth Motion in multiple games. This is particularly disappointing for those who relied on Smooth Motion to improve performance and smoothness in games that do not support DLSS 4 Frame Generation.
NVIDIA’s Manuel has confirmed these two issues. According to him, both of them will be fixed in the next driver. Sadly, though, we don’t have any ETA for when it will come out.

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Playstation 4 Emulator, shadPS4, Has Received Its Largets Update to Date
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/playstation-4-emulator-shadps4-has-received-its-largets-update-to-date/
The team behind the best PlayStation 4 emulator, shadPS4, has released a new version of it. According to the devs, shadPS4 v0.16.0 is their largest update to date. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
shadPS4 v0.16.0 introduces the foundation of a new configuration architecture. This modernized system simplifies settings management, improves game-specific configuration handling, and lays the groundwork for future features.
This new version also introduces an OpenAL-based audio backend. This work establishes a more flexible and portable audio foundation for future improvements while continuing to expand compatibility with PS4 audio functionality.
shadPS4 v0.16.0 also adds initial camera emulation support. This will bring them closer to supporting titles and applications that rely on PlayStation Camera functionality. Not only that but we get local multiplayer support. Multiple users can now enjoy supported games together through the new local multiplayer infrastructure, further expanding gameplay possibilities within the emulator.
And that’s not all. The team has also made some graphical tweaks and improvements. For instance, they’ve added numerous Vulkan fixes that address validation errors, synchronization issues, resource destruction order problems, swapchain handling, and presentation stability. These changes significantly reduce crashes and improve reliability across a wide range of hardware.
Furthermore, the team has added several fixes that target GPU synchronization hazards, stale GPU memory handling, write-after-write scenarios, image layout transitions, and memory protection updates. Together, these changes improve rendering correctness and reduce graphical corruption.
shadPS4 v0.16.0 comes with a large collection of mipmapping fixes that resolve texture quality issues and rendering artifacts in various titles. Support has also been expanded for more advanced pipeline configurations, including additional tessellation and geometry shader combinations required by modern PS4 titles. Plus, the team has upgraded the shader recompiler and GCN decoder. This will benefit games that heavily utilize PlayStation 4 Pro (“Neo”) GPU features.

Final Version of Medal of Honor 1999 Unreal Engine 4 Fan Remake Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/final-version-of-medal-of-honor-1999-unreal-engine-4-fan-remake-released/
In April 2026, we shared a fan remake of the PS1 Medal of Honor 1999 game in Unreal Engine 4. And yesterday, modder ‘Elber’ released its final version. So, if you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend doing so.
What’s really cool here is that, unlike all the other remakes we’ve shared, this project allows you to play the entire MoH 1999 game. It does not just remake one or two levels from it. PC gamers can enjoy the whole game.
In Version 1.1, Elber added a cut mission as additional content. He also made numerous tweaks and improvements based on the feedback he has received. Sadly, though, we don’t have a more detailed changelog for it. So, I don’t really know what exactly has been changed or tweaked.
Elber states that Version 1.1 will be the final version of the remake. As such, I recommend downloading it and giving it a go. You can download it from this link.
This is a really cool fan remake of a classic game. So, don’t sleep on it. Graphically, it does not come close to most of the other fan remakes we’ve shared. However, MoH die-hard fans may appreciate its “old-school” style. If you are one of them, you should check it out.

PlayerUnknown's survival game is shutting down 6 months after launch: 'I have reached the limits of how far I can continue to fund this journey'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/playerunknowns-survival-game-is-shutting-down-6-months-after-launch-i-have-reached-the-limits-of-how-far-i-can-continue-to-fund-this-journey/
Just over six months after its early access debut, PlayerUnknown's survival game Prologue: Go Wayback! has reached the end of the road, as PlayerUnknown Productions is halting work on the project and laying off staff. The studio said that it hopes to return to the game "at a future point in time," but for now, "we will be unable to complete our early access plans."
"We are currently working on an update that we plan to release soon, which will add new items as well as paths and trails to the game for enhanced exploration," the studio wrote on Steam. "With that update, we also intend to release the game out of early access and make it free for any players who want to check it out in the future. We are also investigating offering refunds to players who have purchased the game."

So long suckers! I am leaving to drink heavily and repair cheap cars in Poland
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/so-long-suckers-i-am-leaving-to-drink-heavily-and-repair-cheap-cars-in-poland/
Well well well, look who's come to say goodbye. No use, buster. You won't have ol' Josh Wolens to kick around anymore. I'm off. Gone. Scarpered. My future is a long stretch of road near Białystok and all who ride upon it. I'm a car mechanic now. Also, a drunk. Somehow these things compliment each other.
I've been playing some Cheap Car Repair, is what I'm saying, and I've scraped off just enough rust to realise that this business is my true calling. Set in an anonymous Polish village in the mid-to-late '90s, it's a game of cutting corners, pocketing air filters, blasting Slavic pop and consuming vodka by the litre. I believe it may be a documentary.

Summer Game Fest is here, so get ready for a lot of, 'Ugh, that game with the cool trailer used AI'
https://www.pcgamer.com/software/ai/summer-game-fest-is-here-so-get-ready-for-a-lot-of-ugh-that-game-with-the-cool-trailer-used-ai/
Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog unveiled a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis during yesterday's State of Play showcase, and fans seemed pretty happy: As one commenter on YouTube put it, "That's the Lara I remember!" But shortly after that, a content disclosure popped up on the game's Steam page, and there was somewhat less happiness about that, because yes: AI is being used in the game's development. (…) To an extent, Tomb Raider's post-trailer Steam disclosure represents the new reality: We're going to be seeing a lot of new games announced over the next several days as Summer Game Fest week gets up to speed, and alongside that we're going to be seeing a lot more of these AI disclosures. If you care about how AI is used in games, watching big showcases is going to become a tiring cycle of excitement, then doubt, then bargaining. Will this game soon post an AI disclosure? Did that game use generative AI instead of hiring concept artists, and then just lie about it?

007 First Light sequels will be 'done by MGM and, theoretically, by Amazon Game Studios,' Amazon exec says
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/007-first-light-sequels-will-be-done-by-mgm-and-theoretically-by-amazon-game-studios-amazon-exec-says/
007 First Light is a pretty good James Bond videogame and, by early appearances, a hit, and so it's no great surprise that more of them are going to happen: So says Amazon Gaming general manager Jeff Gattis in a new interview with Polygon. But will IO Interactive be involved in the process? That, apparently, is uncertain.

Here's how to catch the Future Games Show's 40 games and 10 world premieres this June 6
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/events-conferences/heres-how-to-catch-the-future-games-shows-40-games-and-10-world-premieres-this-june-6/
Time was, you used to have to go places to see videogame events. I've been through it myself—a sweltering period in Los Angeles where I spent approximately $6,000 on Ubers and lived off Famous Amos cookies from the hotel vending machine.
But it's the 21st century, and you don't have to deal with all that. When the Future Games Show Summer Showcase airs from LA this June 6 at 12 noon PT / 3 pm ET / 8 pm BST, you'll be able to catch over 40 upcoming games—and 10 world premieres—all from the comfort of your home. Or elsewhere; there's nothing stopping you from going to LA to watch it on your iPad or something, I suppose.

The follow-up to one of my favorite RPGs of the 2020s finally has a demo, and it does not disappoint: Bat people, a mushroom hellscape, and funky JRPG combat from bizarro world 2005

Entropy, the JRPG-style game from Dread Delusion developer Lovely Hellplace, has gotten a playable demo on Steam and an early access release date of August 18. I checked out that demo for myself, and things are looking great for the studio's extremely divergent sophomore effort.
