Those Snapdragon SoCs are pretty much regular ARM CPUs, maybe with little bit extra (though I'm not sure about that), and, especially in games, have the problems that usual x86/64 to ARM translations have. If N1X is more like Apple M chips, then it's pretty different game, pun intended. But that's a big if.

I guess we'll see soon, then.

Yeah - I mean, if I understood some of the things I've read over past few months, they indeed do solve those code translation issues, which paired with native Blackwell driver code will give them almost native x86 performance. But, yeah, we'll see in few days.

NVIDIA announced RTX Spark chip for Windows on ARM with RTX Gaming support

Well there it is. Sounds like it's around 5070 laptop performance but the main advantage is that unified ram which can allow the ram for the CPU/GPU to go up to 128GB. It also sounds like they may have fixed the x86 compatibily issues but we will have to see. But the question, especially now days is going to be... At what cost?

At this point I'm not upgrading my RTX 4090, I'm putting it on a retirement plan and hoping it survives long enough to become a family heirloom. GPU prices got me treating thermal paste like anti aging cream. I'm about to start speaking softly to it and lowering its stress levels. I'm seriously looking up how to extend the lifespan of an RTX 4090. I'm serious, anybody know how? lol

The thing that might kill these GPUs is largely that dang connector. It might burn out tomorrow or it might never burn out but the only thing any of us can really do is either try our best to keep it alive or have a contingency plan if it dies.

For example, the main things that seems to kill it is constant plugging and unplugging the connector and the fact that a lot of current can go through it which causes heat. So for me, I never really unplugged the connector other than the first time I plugged it in and I occasionally, visually make sure it's seated in properly without touching in. And for the heat issue through the connector, my case has intake fans at the bottom as well as on the sides so hopefully, the airflow will keep it cool enough.

For my contingency plan, I bought my cable through cable mod back when I got it because they were guaranteeing that if any GPUs burnt by using their cables, they will fully pay the entire price of the GPU. And for the GPUs that actually did get burnt, there have been a ton of cases where Cablemod did indeed pay for either the replacement or market value of the GPU.

Of course the alternative is to go Radeon but that brand has it's own sets of issues that I am not interested in dealing with. But outside of the cable, it's pretty unlikely the gpu itself will die anytime soon. Just make sure to have an anti sag brace as well.

I just saw Daniel Owen's video about his 5090. So yeah, those connectors are still a problem. I really don't know why companies are using them for non Nvidia products. They seem to be nothing but trouble.

Let’s check what’s happened this weekend in the gaming news front:

SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS

The Witcher 3 sold another 5 million copies over the last year: 'This cements its place among the best-selling videogames in history'

Here's a nice little bit of trivia to carry you into your weekend: Amidst all the hullabaloo about the surprise Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past that was announced earlier this week, CD Projekt also revealed that Geralt's big(gest) adventure has now surpassed 65 million copies sold.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which recently celebrated its 11th anniversary, has just crossed another spectacular sales threshold: 65 million copies," CD Projekt chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz said in the studio's financial results commentary. "This cements its place among the best-selling videogames in history."
(...)
What makes the accomplishment even more notable is the relentlessness of its advance. The Witcher 3 hit 20 million copies sold in 2019, four years after its release—an average of five million copies per year. Four years after that, it achieved 50 million copies, running the average up to a little over six million per year since launch. In 2025 it hit 60 million copies sold—another five million per year out the door—and now, one year later, five million more copies are in the book.

GOG starts the week with four sales/promos:

Steam has new deals and sales/events:

There are two new deals at Humble:

New Zelda: Ocarina of Time Unreal Engine 5.7.4 Fan Remake Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-zelda-ocarina-of-time-unreal-engine-5-7-4-fan-remake-released/
CryZENx has released a brand new demo for his amazing fan remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 5.7.4. So, if you are a die-hard Zelda fan, I highly recommend downloading it and trying it.
This new tech demo focuses on the “Inside Jabu-Jabu’s Belly” quest. This quest takes Link inside the fishlike beast known as Jabu-Jabu. Players will be able to explore the insides of the beast and fight some enemies. They will also be able to fight a boss at the end of it.
As I’ve said before, this is one of the best fan remakes. Contrary to most we’ve shared, this one has proper gameplay mechanics. Some may not like the artistic direction of this remake. However, it’s pretty impressive what CryZENx has been able to create during these past years.
Since the demo uses UE5.7.4, it should run better than the previous demos. Unreal Engine 5.7.4 has brought numerous improvements to Lumen and Ray Tracing. It also packed a number of CPU optimizations. So, in a way, you can get a taste of what this new version of UE5 can offer. However, this fan tech demo is not 100% representative of what UE5.7 is capable of. So, make sure to keep that in mind.
To get the best possible Ocarina of Time UE5 experience, I recommend downloading the other tech demos that CryZENx has released. These demos recreate different areas from the game, offering a broader look at the project. From what I’ve seen, most, if not all, of them are still available for download. You can find links to them here.
You can go ahead and download the demo from this link. Do note that this demo is locked at 30FPS. Thankfully, it supports both DLSS and FSR, and it has an option to disable Motion Blur. There is also a 60FPS demo, but it is locked behind a Patreon wall.

Someone is working on a Fallout 3 Remaster in Unreal Engine 5.7
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/someone-is-working-on-a-fallout-3-remaster-in-unreal-engine-5-7/
Now here is something interesting. YouTube’s ‘Julian Uccetta’ is currently porting Fallout 3 to Unreal Engine 5.7. This project aims to allow you to experience the original Fallout 3 game with the lighting benefits of Unreal Engine 5.7.
While this project is still in a very early phase, Uccetta shared a video for it. This video packs 7 minutes of gameplay footage from it. As such, it can give you a glimpse at its current state.
As I said, this project aims to port Fallout 3 to Unreal Engine 5. It does not make any changes to its in-game assets. This will most likely please some die-hard Fallout 3 fans who have been asking for something like this. Not only that, but for a one-man project, it looks mighty impressive.
From what we can see, this Fallout 3 fan remaster already features fully functional gameplay mechanics. In the video, we can see the player using the Pip-Boy, interacting with the world, opening doors, and looting items. As a result, this fan project appears to be further along in development than the UE5 fan remasters of Skyrim and Morrowind.
The YouTuber achieved this using a plugin system he has been developing called Gamebryo Unreal. The tool is designed to allow older Gamebryo-based Bethesda titles, from The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind to Fallout: New Vegas (and eventually The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4), to be easily ported to Unreal Engine by simply opening the project and selecting the location of the game’s data files.
It’s also worth noting that a test build is available for download. However, access to it is locked behind a Ko-fi paywall, so you’ll need to make a donation to try it. Hopefully, a free public version will be released at some point in the future.

New Starfield Mod Adds More Than 200 Hand-Placed Light Sources to Anchorpoint Station
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/new-starfield-mod-adds-more-than-200-hand-placed-light-sources-to-anchorpoint-station/
In April 2026, we shared several mods for Starfield that added more than 2,300 hand-placed light sources across numerous cities and regions. And today, we take a look at the next entry in this lighting overhaul series. This latest mod focuses on Anchorpoint Station, significantly enhancing its lighting. So, let’s dive in.
Created by RabbitDoesStuff, this mod adds over 200+ hand-placed light sources to the Anchorpoint Station. It also adds new objects and makes some changes to create a more realistic level design.
Going into even more details, the mod enhances visibility and makes the star station less dark. It also corrects multiple light sources and overhauls walkways and vendor counters.
To prove how much better the modded version of the Anchorpoint Station looks, the modder shared a lot of comparison screenshots. As such, I’ve decided to include some of them in this article. These will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from the mod.

007 First Light mods are here so you can play as Lenny Kravitz, Agent 47, or a French maid
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/007-first-light-mods-are-here-so-you-can-play-as-lenny-kravitz-agent-47-or-a-french-maid/
IO's James Bond origin saga 007 First Light has been out for several days, and that means modders have had time to start the important work of making sure we can skip the intros, make the cutscenes run at obscene ultrawide resolutions, get rid of the HUD, and play the TacSim mode as the man who sang Are You Gonna Go My Way and American Woman.
Expanded Outfits is the mod you want for that, taking 21 of the outfits you can normally choose to use in the TacSim and reskinning them as more adventurous options. You can play as Bond in his underpants, Damien Webb in his gold mask, Miss Moneypenny, YouTube guest star JackSepticEye, Theresa Lorca in her Bond girl bikini, a familiar-looking bald assassin, and more.
You'll still have to play the campaign as vanilla James Bond, however. Give them time. I'm sure that'll be along, as well as the inevitable nude mods and Thomas the Tank Engine, soon enough.
If you were looking for them, here are those mods for higher FOV and camera, skipping the intro, toggling the HUD, and an ultrawide cutscenes fix. Read the instructions for how to install each mod, for most of them it's a simple case of copying and pasting the files into your install directory—no mod manager needed.
>> Sorry, but there’s no media about any of those mods.

This fan remake of 1999's Medal of Honor proved so popular that its creator added a level cut from the original game
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/this-fan-remake-of-1999s-medal-of-honor-proved-so-popular-that-its-creator-added-a-level-cut-from-the-original-game/
EA may have given up on Medal of Honor after Respawn's ambitious yet unsuccessful VR spinoff, but there's still a strong cohort of fans of the World War 2 shooter series that laid the groundwork for Call of Duty. Only last month, a developer going by Elber88 released a ground-up remake of the very first Medal of Honor—released on PlayStation in 1999—built in Unreal Engine 4 using original game logic and assets from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, meaning you can essentially play the series debut on PC for the very first time.
This, it turns out, has gone down very well with Medal of Honor fans. So well, in fact, that Elber decided to continue developing the remake a little further. Version 1.1 of Medal of Honor Retro Remake not only spruces up the initial release in several ways, but it also includes an extra level that was cut from the original game.
"I am glad to invite you to play the updated versions 1.1 of the remake, which to my surprise has become very popular not only among fans of the original MOH but also among ordinary players," Elber wrote on ModDB. "This inspired me to continue working in my free time and do it for the community."
Version 1.1 includes "many fixes and most of the wishes and improvements from players," though Elber doesn't go into specifics. However, Elber does provide some information on that extra level, which is set in the infamous Colditz Castle. According to the Medal of Honor wiki, this mission mostly exists in several screenshots and information in the games LEVEL.BIN files, which suggest it would have involved intelligence gathering and assassinating the castle commandant.
Elber acknowledges that the mission is based on "very limited information" and so he has understandably taken some creative license in building it. "The current implementation can be considered as my vision," he writes.
You can download the updated Medal of Honor: Retro Remake via ModDB. I played a little of the previously released version last month, and it seemed like a well-put together remake, although the absence of the original game's animations was something of a shame. Nonetheless, if you never played the pre-Allied Assault Medal of Honor games and would like to remedy that (partially) anyway, this is a decent way to do that.

CDPR is aiming to 'release 3 Witcher games within a 6 year period' but don't expect any expansions for the upcoming trilogy
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/the-witcher/cdpr-is-aiming-to-release-3-witcher-games-within-a-6-year-period-but-dont-expect-any-expansions-for-the-upcoming-trilogy/
It's been a big couple of days for Witcher fans as an expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was confirmed (after it was accidentally leaked on the RED Launcher, whoopsie). But thanks to a Q&A portion at the end of the financial call we also now know a bit more about CD Projekt Red's aspirational release timeline.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 promises more 'grounded' cosmetics, and I feel like I've heard this before
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/call-of-duty/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-4-promises-more-grounded-cosmetics-and-i-feel-like-ive-heard-this-before/
In recent years, Call of Duty has been suffering from what I lamented last year to be a severe case of Fortnitification—you know, just about every game you know and love amalgamating and morphing into a multimedia glob where some bozo from a TV show can gun down a real-life celebrity and then proceed to be revived by their teammate donning the skin of some anime protagonist.
(...)
Well, it looks like Infinity Ward wants to walk back some of that baffling incoherence with Modern Warfare 4, which was revealed earlier this week. "Every aspect of Modern Warfare 4 is anchored in the game's narrative," a post from the Infinity Ward X account reads. "Every feature, every decision needs to feel authentic to what Modern Warfare is, and that includes cosmetics and collabs. We're committed to keeping it grounded and transparent, and we want to hear from you on what you'd like to see in our game."

StarCraft 2 development ended 6 years ago, but Blizzard still won't stop messing with it
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rts/starcraft-2-development-ended-6-years-ago-but-blizzard-still-wont-stop-messing-with-it/
Six years ago, in October 2020, Blizzard announced the end of new content updates for StarCraft 2, its storied real-time strategy game, although it promised to continue supporting the game with tweaks and balance patches "as needed." It's followed through on that commitment over the years since, and today (technically yesterday, but I didn't notice it then) brings as a new one, and it's kind of a banger.

Bungie spills the beans on combat tuning for Marathon Season 2, and it's bad news for shotgun lovers and thermal snipers
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/bungie-spills-the-beans-on-combat-tuning-for-marathon-season-2-and-its-bad-news-for-shotgun-lovers-and-thermal-snipers/
Bungie revealed Season 2 of Marathon earlier this week, and it's already given players the headlines for its upcoming reset. Marathon is getting a new map, a new defence-focussed shell, a new runner upgrade system, and a free week for players who didn't jump aboard for Season 1 to try the game out for themselves.
Now, though Bungie has provided a much more detailed overview of how the new season will affect combat on Tau Ceti IV, diving into the nitty gritty of how gunfights have been reshaped and rebalanced for the coming wipe.

It seems Terraria's developer is as bad at making small updates as it is final ones, as it says its latest balance patch is much more than 'adjusting a few numbers'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/it-seems-terrarias-developer-is-as-bad-at-making-small-updates-as-it-is-final-ones-as-it-says-its-latest-balance-patch-is-much-more-than-adjusting-a-few-numbers/
Back in January, Terraria finally received its gargantuan 1.4.5 patch. Three years in the making, 1.4.5 was supposed to be the final update for the long-running, massively successful survival-crafting game. But it turns out that developer Re-Logic is terrible at making final updates, having committed to at least one further major patch in the future while leaving the door open for more.
On top of this, Re-Logic is already working on what was supposed to be a minor balance patch. But it appears Re-Logic is as bad at making small updates as it is final updates, as patch 1.4.5.7 is shaping up to do far more than tweak some numbers.

Thick as Thieves is making changes, but not the one I think matters most
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/thick-as-thieves-is-making-changes-but-not-the-one-i-think-matters-most/
"While we are quite pleased with your thieving prowess and how much you are enjoying the game," say Thick as Thieves developers OtherSide Entertainment, "we also know that there is continued room for improvement and we intend to keep serving that up."
Following a first patch that added an FOV slider, an option to disable motion blur, and a few other valuable settings tweaks, a second update has been promised "sometime in the middle of next week." And while it does include stuff I'm all in favor of, like the ability to rebind your keys—essential in a stealth game, rebinding the keys is the first thing everyone does in Thief: The Dark Project—there's a gaping hole where some variation on "timers to be made adjustable or optional" should be.
>> That “next week” is, of course, this week.

Factorio's next major update will also be its last, as its developer announces it has 'reached a good place to conclude active gameplay development'

After 13 years of development, over half a decade of post-release support, and one of the most incredible expansions ever made, Wube Software is preparing to call time on the development of Factorio.
In its latest Friday Facts blog, the Czech developer revealed that the coming 2.1 patch will be the game's final significant update, with the studio switching to minor quality of life patches thereafter.

https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/star-citizens-single-player-component-is-in-the-closing-stages-of-development-according-to-chris-roberts-as-rumours-of-another-squadron-42-delay-circulate/
Last week, Star Citizen surpassed $1 billion in player funding, an eye-popping milestone that inevitably raised all the same questions about Cloud Imperium Games' wildly ambitious space MMO. Is it a scam? (no). Is it playable (yes). When will it be finished? (no idea). What's the situation with its single-player component, Squadron 42?
The last we heard, Squadron 42 was on course to release sometime this year, but the breadth of the release window, combined with the fact that Squadron 42 has been delayed numerous times already, made it difficult to take this too seriously. However, it might just be that Squadron 42 is nearly finished after all. In a recent interview Star Citizen's creator Chris Roberts said the single-player game is "in the closing stages" of development.

Minecraft's 3rd game drop of 2026 has been revealed, and its new biome automatically makes it the best one yet
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/minecrafts-3rd-game-drop-of-2026-has-been-revealed-and-its-new-biome-automatically-makes-it-the-best-one-yet/
Minecraft has shared the first features of its third game drop of 2026 at TwitchCon, and while we still have a lot to learn, we do know it'll feature an entirely new forest biome: the dappled forest. After the Chaos Cubed update focused on bringing a new and exciting biome to the underground, I for one am excited to have somewhere new to explore in the overworld, especially given the autumnal aesthetic the biome will take on.

After being shut down by Blizzard, one of WoW's biggest private servers is saying screw it, we'll make our own MMO
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/world-of-warcraft/after-being-shut-down-by-blizzard-one-of-wows-biggest-private-servers-is-saying-screw-it-well-make-our-own-mmo/
The saga of TurtleWoW was perhaps inevitable—operating pretty brazenly under the nose of Blizzard, the World of Warcraft private server featured bespoke content for its own vision of the game, and advertised itself as an actual game might.
It also featured in-game microtransactions, and while some private servers for other MMOs (like City of Heroes) have received official permission from the developers to keep operating, they've usually done so via years of muddling by on strictly-documented donations that only cover server costs.
(...)
Well, as per the TurtleWoW (now Moonwhisper Games) Discord, its developers have said they'll make their own MMO: "This isn't the end of our journey together, but rather the beginning of a new one! We'll be transitioning the team into a game development studio Moonwhisper Games.

Tekken's game director follows in Harada's footsteps by saying sayonara to Bandai Namco, causing fans to worry about the game's future

After long-time Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada departed Bandai Namco last year—having now started up his own studio under SNK—the game director behind the last two entries is now following in his footsteps.
Kohei "Nakatsu" Ikeda has been with the developer for 20 years, first joining the team behind Soulcalibur 4 before eventually becoming the game director for both Tekken 7 and Tekken 8. Nakatsu announced his departure with a lengthy message over on his X account. "Sharing excitement, celebrating together, and spending unforgettable moments with you all became one of the greatest treasures of my life," he said.

Nice. Perhaps we'll even see a 13800X3D supported on AM5 in a few years.
