Some good old PC industry drama:

Nvidia has banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving Founders Edition cards due to their focus on Raster. Since Founders Edition cards are the first to get reviewed and are generally the most seen compared to AIBs, this would be a big blow if it sticks.

"Nvidia have officially decided to ban us from receiving GeForce Founders Edition GPU review samples

Their reasoning is that we are focusing on rasterization instead of ray tracing.

They have said they will revisit this "should your editorial direction change".

More to come"

https://twitter.com/HardwareUnboxed/status/1337246983682060289?s=20

Personally, I do think Hardware Unboxed has a heavy bias for AMD and their stance on Ray Tracing is dumb af. But with that being said, this is certainly not the way to go about it. Come on Nvidia, do better.

That's just one of Nvidia tantrums, showing how petty they can be sometimes. Raster is still important and RT is not everything, and it's not the fault of Hardware Unboxed is their cards lose in raster to AMD.

Hopefully, they'll rectify that position, but I don't think it will happen until after all the Ampere cards have been released.

The future has arrived with the release of Cyberpunk 2077! Despite everyone having upgrades on the brain (literally), we unfortunately, can’t hook you up with your choice of cybernetic implant.
However, we’ve still got a pretty impressive grand prize. We've partnered with GOG.com to bring you the ultimate tech upgrade: the Collector’s Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 on PC (...)
There's only one grand prize, but three runners up will be getting a Cyberpunk 2077 t-shirt and winter beanie. Head over to this thread for more information on how you can enter.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the biggest PC launch in history
https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-is-the-biggest-pc-launch-in-history/
Not everything is going right with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, but the sales couldn't be better. CD Projekt Red maintains an investor-focused account that has been sharing some stats about the game's launch which, broken down, show the open-world project has had the biggest launch day in PC gaming history, sailing over the recent high bar of 3.7 million set by World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
The game was pre-ordered by an astonishing 8 million people, which the CDPR investor relations account went on to divide by platform.
59% of 8 million is 4.72 million copies, so CP 2077 is over a million units ahead of Shadowlands even before the purchases made on day one itself. Once those figures are available we'll update the total.
>> That's a lot of pre-orders!.

Pillars of Eternity & Tyranny are free to own on Epic Games Store
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/pillars-of-eternity-tyranny-are-free-to-own-on-epic-games-store/
Epic Games has announced that Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny are currently free to own on Epic Games Store. From today and until December 17th, PC gamers can visit their EGS pages and acquire their free copies.
Going into more details, Epic is offering the Definitive Edition for Pillars of Eternity and the Gold Edition for Tyranny.
>> And next week the free game will be a surprise! And that's because...

Epic will give away a free game every day starting next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-will-give-away-a-free-game-every-day-starting-next-week/
Steam sales sneak up on us. Plentiful leaks mean we generally have a pretty good idea about when they're coming but even so, it's never official until, bam, the green flag drops and the sale is live. Epic, on the other hand, is giving us plenty of notice about its upcoming Holiday Sale, which it announced today will kick off on December 17.
Games will be discounted by up to 75 percent during the sale, which isn't bad, but the big hook will more likely be the free games that Epic will be flinging around like a fat guy on a rooftop. Instead of the usual weekly giveaway, the Holiday Sale will see a new freebie every day until the end of the month—15 games in total.
>> We'll see how many of those free games are new and how many were already given during the year.

The Humble Store has a new Hack & Slash Sale, with up to 85% discounts for the next 6 days: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/hack-slash-sale/

Cyberpunk 2077 already has some mods for FOV, custom keybinds, and other tweaks
https://www.pcgamer.com/best-cyberpunk-2077-mods/
Cyberpunk 2077 has finally arrived, and it's already shattering records: Over a million players immediately dove into Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam. But other fans quickly got to work doing something else: making mods.
Cyberpunk 2077 mods have begun appearing already, not even a day after it was released. There aren't any particularly groundbreaking mods yet, as you'd expect, but in the meantime there are a few mods that can help tweak your experience on PC.
Important! Keep in mind that mods aren't supported by CD Projekt, that we don't know what modding Cyberpunk 2077 might do to your games files and saved games, and that Cyberpunk 2077 is bound to be updated repeatedly to fix bugs, which might play havoc with your modded game. Mod Cyberpunk 2077 at your own risk!

Friday news, the second, and also long, part:

Windjammers 2 is delayed until 2021 so developers can add rollback netcode
https://www.pcgamer.com/windjammers-2-is-delayed-until-2021-so-developers-can-add-rollback-netcode/
Windjammers 2, the sequel to the 1994 Neo-Geo digital frisbee game, was announced in 2018, with launch expected to take place in 2019. But when 2019 rolled around it was pushed into early 2020, and now that we're in the final stages of late 2020, it's been delayed again, to sometime in 2021.

Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a major facelift in Cold War Season 1
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-warzone-is-getting-a-major-facelift-in-cold-war-season-1/
Call of Duty is about to make a bit of history. On December 16, Call of Duty: Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone are joining into one mega military Voltron. Everything from player ranks, weapon progression, battle passes, and weapons themselves will be completely shared across the two games. To commemorate the occasion, Warzone is getting a ton of additional weapons and a new (ugly) coat of paint.

Telltale confirms The Wolf Among Us 2 is still happening, but it's going to be awhile
https://www.pcgamer.com/telltale-confirms-the-wolf-among-us-2-is-still-happening-but-its-going-to-be-awhile/
It was one year ago, almost to the day, that the reconstituted Telltale Games announced at The Game Awards that The Wolf Among Us 2 is happening. There wasn't much to see at the time, just a brief teaser of Bigby in a poorly-lit hotel room being asked for help by someone off-screen, but the mere fact of its existence was enough to stir up excitement.

https://www.pcgamer.com/devolver-digital-reveals-a-retro-style-action-adventure-called-loop-hero/

Medieval multiplayer heist game Hood: Outlaw & Legends is coming in May
https://www.pcgamer.com/medieval-multiplayer-heist-game-hood-outlaw-and-legends-is-coming-in-may/
In August, Focus Home Interactive unveiled a new game of multiplayer medieval heists called Hood: Outlaw & Legends. As the title suggests, there's an element of the Robin Hood legend to it, but instead of just one band of merry men there are a whole bunch of them, and they're all looking to rob from the rich at the same time—and they don't mind getting their hands dirty in the process.

Back 4 Blood is basically Left 4 Dead 3
https://www.pcgamer.com/back-4-blood-is-basically-left-4-dead-3/
We didn't get to play Left 4 Dead 3, one of the oft-rumored Valve projects that never quite materialized. But it seems we'll get it in another form—Back 4 Blood, a cooperative shooter that walks and talks exactly like we'd expect a L4D to, created by some of the game people that birthed Left 4 Dead back in 2008.

Survival shooter Scavengers is now playable in beta
https://www.pcgamer.com/survival-shooter-scavengers-is-now-playable-in-beta/
Back in September we wrote about an early playtest for Scavengers, a hybrid survival game and multiplayer shooter first announced back in 2018. Now Scavengers is open to a much larger group of players with a beta that's live right now, as announced at The Game Awards.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide gets nasty with chainswords in its Game Awards trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/warhammer-40000-darktide-gets-nasty-with-chainswords-in-its-game-awards-trailer/
Vermintide developer Fatshark dropped a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide at The Game Awards today, painting a much clearer picture of what the co-op Chaos-slasher is going to look like. Along with a great cinematic, we also get a glimpse of the first-person action, with chainswords cutting through bones and limbs. Lovely stuff!

Forza Horizon 4 is getting a Cyberpunk 2077 vehicle tomorrow
https://www.pcgamer.com/forza-horizon-4-is-getting-a-cyberpunk-2077-vehicle-tomorrow/

Disco Elysium is getting more story, characters, and full voice acting as a free upgrade
https://www.pcgamer.com/disco-elysium-is-becoming-disco-elysium-the-final-cut/
Last year at The Game Awards, Disco Elysium came away with four well-served trophies, winning the RPG, Narrative, Independent Game, and Fresh Indie Game categories. This year, its creators Za/um used The Game Awards to announce Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, coming in March of next year.

Warframe gets Unreal Tournament weapon skins to celebrate its launch on the Epic Games Store
https://www.pcgamer.com/warframe-gets-unreal-tournament-weapon-skins-to-celebrate-its-launch-on-the-epic-games-store/
Warframe creator Digital Extremes and Epic Games have a storied history: they co-created Unreal and Unreal Tournament back in the late '90s. Eventually, the two studios parted ways, with Digital Extremes becoming a mid-tier work-for-hire developer before gambling and finding big success on Warframe. But now both Epic and Digital Extremes are having a little reunion.

Endless Dungeon is a new roguelike set in Amplitude's Endless universe
https://www.pcgamer.com/endless-dungeon-is-a-new-roguelike-set-in-amplitudes-endless-universe/
I love Dungeon of the Endless, a strange mix of roguelike dungeon crawler and tower defense from the makers of strategy games Endless Space and Endless Legend. Apparently Amplitude doesn't have quite the whole studio working on its next game, Civilization competitor Humankind, because it's also making Endless Dungeon, a successor to Dungeon of the Endless.

Surprise! There are so many articles today that a part three was necessary:

Fall Guys Season 3 starts next week, adds the terrifying 'ringus dingus'
https://www.pcgamer.com/fall-guys-season-3-starts-next-week-adds-the-terrifying-ringus-dingus/
The winter-themed Season 3 of Fall Guys will be a bigger deal than the somewhat underwhelming Season 2, featuring seven new levels and over 30 new costumes, as well as more emotes and obstacles like, let me check my notes here, "ringus dingus". Probably some snowballs too.

It Takes Two trailer showcases bizarre co-op gameplay and a shouting book named Dr. Hakim
https://www.pcgamer.com/it-takes-two-trailer-showcases-bizarre-co-op-gameplay-and-a-shouting-book-named-dr-hakim/
It Takes Two, the next project from Hazelight Studios, is in some ways similar to its previous game, A Way Out. But where that was a gritty co-op action-adventure about guys busting out of jail, It Takes Two, as it was described when it was unveiled in June, is a story about a young girl who struggles to come to terms with her parents' separation by creating dolls that, through some unknown magic, she can use to control them and their emotions.

Super Meat Boy Forever gets a surprise December release date
https://www.pcgamer.com/super-meat-boy-forever-gets-a-surprise-december-release-date/
It's been in development for a while, but Team Meat's Super Meat Boy Forever finally has a release date, and it's soon. In a trailer revealed at the 2020 Game Awards today, the game was confirmed to be arriving on the Epic Games Store on December 23.

Road 96 is a procedural road trip game about escaping a country in turmoil
https://www.pcgamer.com/road-96-is-a-procedural-road-trip-game-about-escaping-a-country-in-turmoil/
One pleasant surprise from The Game Awards was the announcement of Road 96, a procedurally generated road trip adventure about fleeing from a tyrannical regime. Inspired by renowned filmmakers like the Coen Brothers, Tarantino, and Bong Joon-Ho, Road 96 is made by the team behind Valiant Hearts and Memories Retold—two great narrative games with a lot of heart.

Ride a bicycle and memorialize fading cultures in this gorgeous, melancholy third-person adventure
https://www.pcgamer.com/ride-a-bicycle-and-memorialize-fading-cultures-in-this-gorgeous-melancholy-third-person-adventure/
Season is one of the more interesting things shown at The Game Awards tonight. It's a third-person game about a young woman who's exploring the world on her bicycle, taking photos, recording audio, encountering local citizens, and bearing witness to the critical, final moments of a disappearing culture.

At long last, here is Elite Dangerous: Odyssey's first-person gameplay in action
https://www.pcgamer.com/at-long-last-here-is-elite-dangerous-odysseys-first-person-gameplay-in-action/
Six years after its release, Elite Dangerous is getting an incredible new feature: legs. With the arrival of the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey expansion next year, players will finally be allowed to exit their spacecraft and ground vehicles in order to mingle (or shoot at) their fellow leg-havers. The video above is the first real in-engine footage of the expansion.

Here's the full reveal for the new Among Us map
https://www.pcgamer.com/heres-the-full-reveal-for-the-new-among-us-map/
First teased last month, the next Among Us map was finally revealed at the Game Awards today, and you can check it out in the video above. As the footage hints, The Airship will feature "all new tasks, skins, and more to keep you working... and guessing".

The Elder Scrolls Online is going to hell—wait, I mean Oblivion
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-elder-scrolls-online-is-going-to-hellwait-i-mean-oblivion/
A short teaser trailer during the Game Awards gave us a glimpse of the next year-long adventure coming to The Elder Scrolls Online. After the past 12 months of Skyrim-themed quests, it looks like we're going back one game further for Gates of Oblivion.

You can be Master Chief in Fortnite now
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-be-master-chief-in-fortnite-now/
At the Game Awards today, Epic announced (via Red vs. Blue skit) that you can now buy a Master Chief outfit in Fortnite. It's 2600 V-Bucks for the bundle, which also includes the UNSC Pelican Glider, the Gravity Hammer Pickaxe, and the Lil' Warthog Emote.
>> I guess MSoft also wanted to see its iconic character making silly dances like Sony's Kratos.

Ruined King, the singleplayer League of Legends game, finally shows off some gameplay
https://www.pcgamer.com/ruined-king-the-singleplayer-league-of-legends-game-finally-shows-off-some-gameplay/
Ruined King was announced in December 2019 as the first-ever singleplayer League of Legends game, in development at Airship Syndicate as part of the Riot Forge publishing program. In October of this year it was set for a release in early 2021 on the Epic Games Store, and in a new trailer revealed tonight at The Game Awards we got our first look at some actual gameplay.

Yakuza: Remastered Collection and Yakuza 6 are coming to PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/yakuza-remastered-collection-and-yakuza-6-are-coming-to-pc/
It's finally happening: every mainline Yakuza game will be available on PC by April next year, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced today. The Yakuza: Remastered Collection, which includes Yakuza 3, 4 and 5, will release on PC (Windows 10 and Steam) on January 28, while the final story in Kazuma Kiryu's saga, Yakuza 6, will release on March 25.

Escape from Tarkov's new map looks amazing and will definitely melt my PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/escape-from-tarkovs-new-map-looks-amazing-and-will-definitely-melt-my-pc/
We've all had abusive relationships with a game, right? For me, it's Escape from Tarkov—an experience that can be described as bewildering, brutal, unfair, and potentially very expensive. It's not even fully released yet, having been in open beta since mid-2017, since which Tarkov has evolved and become increasingly polished while retaining the core ability to make my PC wheeze in desperation whenever it runs.

And now, before finally ending the news, let's check GOG and Steam:

+GOG

+Steam

Done, finally! Now, if you excuse me, I need a rest. Until next time, have a happy and gaming weekend.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile V-Ray RTX benchmarks leak

https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3070-mobile-v-ray-rtx-benchmarks-leak

While not as fast as the desktop chip, the fact that it's with in spitting distance of the 2080 Ti, least in this benchmark, shows pretty good performance.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

GN did their performance review for Cyberpunk and GPUs

As expected, 3000 series beats 6000 series in both Raster and RT. Especially when you include DLSS.
