It's a good game,but it's a bit-overrated. I like it,but I don't see it as the be all end all of gaming.

Ok beat the game and here is what I have to say about it. It creates that atmosphere that you find in the Walking Dead tv series. Yes you have the infected, but also the humans fightning for supplies and food to worry about. The pacing was excellent, while the gun play felt realistic. You can't play Uncharted and then this game and expect a similar experience. If you were to get shot in the arm even with a .9mm, you would feel some stopping power and it would throw you off if you are trying to shoot back. If you wind up for a hit with a baseball bat while someone is standing 2 feet (a little more than half a meter) away from you, chances are, he may be able to tackle you or get a hit in. The made alot of aspects feel real and gave you a sense of urgency when being surrounded by either humans or infected. If you shot an infected, chances are there were perhaps a few more nearby that would run to where they heard the gun shots (the Clickers are scary and are immediate kill unless you have a shiv to counter). There are alot of intricate aspects that make this all about the sum of its parts. Tackling situations in different ways, creating diversions, guns blazing (on normal and above this makes the game much harder too), and even being able to go different routes to get to a certain area make it fun. Enemy reactions towards you when they hear you reloading, or when you have their lives at your hands add more to the experience. There is more I can say but I'd rather let you play it one day. Game of the generation? I don't know, let the gamers decide that. But it is one of the best games I've played this gen and the SP being about 20 hrs or slightly less is refreshing for this genre.
Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)
I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/ hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
It proved that if a developer gave enough of a f*ck, they can make a game that features a brilliant, masterful single player experience, while still offering a multiplayer experience that doesn't degenerate from the single player while still being able to stand strong on it's own legs, thus making a complete package. Naughty Dog did the same with Uncharted 2 & 3. All 3 games completely disprove these BS excuses that developers can't only make 1 of the 2 great, and leave the other completely lacking, despite having huge budgets and teams (in some cases even larger than ND). Yes, The Last of Us has definitely raised my expectations. I look foward to seeing what ND can deliver to us on the PS4.
amazing game but no.

Cinematic presentation is not something i judge my games on, only gameplay, and there Last of Us falls short
Nope, I personally enjoy games like Superman 64 and Shaq Fu.
No, it's a truly great game but not amazing enough to raise my gaming standards. I'm hoping that the PS4/X1 will allow developers raise the standard of gaming to such high standards that even the best games this generation seem weak in comparison.
Great game but no. I've yet to play a game that I felt set the bar for other games. Maybe it's because I don't want all my games to be the same. As much as I love the game it's not even my favorite game I've ever played nor is it my favorite game this gen. Nope, that love goes to Dragon's Dogma.
In a way, yes. I remember being amazed and dumbfounded how well TWD did their story, characters, settings, etc. They had me feeling and sympathizing with the cast, while cursing out others. Not to mention, they had a lot of good of great shockers. I was praisng this game as the best story driving game I had ever played...until the TLoU.
Although TLoU is not exactly unique in its scenario, plot, scenery and cast, the way ND executed it was just brilliant. I completely forgot TWD even existed, so much so, I haven't even thought about 400 days in the past months or so. It made me question my moral standing on some issues, i didn't tear up but seeing the characters struggle during their travels chocked me up. The scenery was great, although i did encounter graphical glitches and some rather bad texturing here and there but it didn't ruin it for me. The music was spectacular. It set the mood for some of the most grueling and gut wrenching moments in video game history.
The voice work was outstanding, the facial animations were superb and the combat, while somewhat sluggish in action, was phenomenal. It was frantic and strategic at the same time, from stealth to all-out war, it worked perfectly.
I expect story-driven to perform similar to TLoU rather than point-and-click adventures like TWD, with a nice mix of story development, exploration and satisfying combat.
Good game, one of the best i ever played but no i don't expect games to generally be of this standard. And i don't know how you can compare the gaming standards of an action-adventure game to say an arcade game or RPG. They are very different.
