How? By being an expensive PS4 controller add-on? Yeah...no.

PSP had Monster Hunter, GTA and and a few other games that helped get where it is. PS3 had great 3rd party support. What does the Vita have? What do you think it's going to get? The thing is almost 2 years old.

What does Vita have ? Fucking great potential mate. And that's something. 

Let me explain to you my point of view. First, Vita is mostly a psp 2. Psp was amazing, she could emulate a lot of hardware and could do other usefull things. The psp was not good because of games, most of them were/are very forgettable quality wise. They did not even sell properly, looks at the charts. Psp was amazing back in a time because of emulation, media, hack possibilities... I had a psp back in a time and I can ensure you, psp games are not what you are willing to take psp for. And still, she had almost perfect ps2 port, Gta stories, Gran turismo, Tekken DR, Shin budokai, Ghost of sparta that are still good today.

Back on Vita. The Vita does everything the psp could. And since the psp is still a usefull device, so is the vita. 

The vita has everything to become a great handheld and a neat nex gen console. She has the potentiel to be a ps3 on a pocket like they said. And ps3 is already quite amazing and highly enough for an handheld. But what they did not precise is that you can access to psx, psp ( all titles available by hacking or most of them by the SEN ), a ps2 with all the best collection available/coming, and almost a ps3...

The only real actual problem is the price and the lacks of decent blockbuster. The price is a problem actually because 200$ + memory card price ( around 50$ for decent capacity) for a handheld is way too much. As good as it is.  

And it lacks decent blockbuster because so far most of the big game are pretty ass. Most wanted is an average at best racing game and is actually the best racing game you could get on it. The fighting game are below decent ( SFXTfail, Umvc3, playstationsmashbros, blazblue niche... ). The only good sport game is Fifa 13 ( wich is quite amazing in istelf ). I do not know about RPG, I'm not very into it, but we all know only FF kills charts, the rest is quite niche. And they're not FF on Vita. 

The vita needs games like Gran turismo, Tekken, Final Fantasy ( which is quite dead now though, if it's not FFXV who looks quite amazing ), GTA and other killer charts franchise ( pared with quality obviousely, otherwise that won't work ). They'll come with time. The best psp games came late on psp. I'm sure they'll come with time. Turismo and Tekken ( albeit not that sure, depends on Tekken R download ) are coming. 

People always say that Vita lacks support. Heck, Sony is trying to make this plateform something. Even the creative dev are trying hard by porting every big psn indies title to the ps vita. She lacks BLOCKBUSTER not overall support.

What does she has you ask ? Actually, if it was not for the price, the Vita would already be an amazing device. You could do all of the things you do with a psp, with a wonderful screan. The vita is perfect for indies and well supported by indies dev. Except mark of the ninja and Fez, all the best indies of the last 2 years are on it (HotlineM, Limbo, escape plan, Guacamelee...)  or are coming (Flower in mind...). Great ps2 collection available ( Mgs, Jak and Dexter, Zone of the enders... ) and great one coming ( God of war, Raccoon, Devil may cry, probably prince of persia too... ). Wich means to have a ps2 in your pocket along with a psp, psx and a ps3 to lesser extent ( and in a near future ). That's something since most of the big and best titles of the 13 last year were on those plateform. With tactile screen for indies and web...

Pretty awesome for a simple ps2.5. I would rather say that for now dev are not that used to dev on vita yet. And still look at the comparison, it is very close to it. 

Look at UMV3, ( shitty game but that's not the subject ), the game is almost identical to his ps3 vers. Same goes for Rayman Legends, SRaccon thieves of time.

Also look at Fifa 13, I have it and had Fifa 13 on ps3 before. They're almost identical.

It is very clear that in a near future, the vita would be a great replacement for the ps3.  

I was just being sarcastic, It was pretty awful not being able to play single player games without being online. But to be able to play PS4 games on a portable device from another place would obviously not be possible without an internet connection.

Hey, did you know the Vita can play music? It's only a MP3 player now. Sony killed the Vita.

Could someone explain to me how in the world with is going to work with bandwidth crunch and the lack of good internet in a lot of the West?

Can places like Brazil even do this? Seems to me this is very unsubstantial, and only works in extremely selective situations.

(Can people seriously load better games onto the demo Vita units at Gamestop and such? Those games are terrible. At least load up Gravity Rush or something, why must every single unit be blasting PSABR?)

Sony seems to be in quite the confusion in the handheld market, maybe that's why Nintendo considered the GBA SP as the PSP's competitor in E3 2004 and hyped the DS to be in a league of it's own XD (and surely enough, the GBA outsold the PSP and the DS went on to be the most sold gaming handheld in history and reached PS2 level sales :O )

It's entertaining to see people getting worked up over typical marketing PR and hilarious cries of "false advertising," but if I can play all my PS4 games on my PSV via WiFi then close enough for me.
