Mass Effect is coming wayyy before the holidays and Lost Odyssey is not gonna sell that much, Halo 3 and GTA IV will do great.

Mass Effect is coming this summer. 

The PS3 has a better holiday lineup if MGS 4 comes out this holiday, they got MGS 4, GTA IV, Ratchet and Clank: ToD, and Killzone 2.

I'll give you Metal Gear Solid 4 and Grand Theft Auto 4 ...

Ratchet and Clank will get good reviews but will be outshined by other games released this year; it will sell poorly though because it has never been much of a system seller and the PS3's userbase is too small to really sell that many copies.

Killzone 2 will follow in the footsteps of Killzone and be the most overhyped and underperforming (in terms of sales and ratings) game of the year.

 Killzone 2 could definitely turn out to be crappy but I  think it will sell decently, as for Ratchet maybe it won't sell too much cause of the PS3 install base but it really depends what this install base consists of, if they are mostly gamers and not people who got it for Blu Ray and whatnot it could do decently well, but there's no question it will be a great game and it is the best looking PS3 game so far.

Mass Effect was delayed supposedly to September. That way they avoid the pitfalls of a holiday release ala KOTOR2 (unfinished). What big uber-name games did we have in 2005 and 2006 for one console exclusively? We had FFXII and GH2 for PS2 last year - both million sellers, but that's it. The 360 has 2 games that will get 3m units easily, and an unknown with Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey. Mass Effect is a new IP, but it comes from freakin' Bioware. KOTOR sold 1m+ KOTOR2 did as well, and Jade Empire did pretty well too. Lost Odyssey is of a strong pedigree since its Mistwaker - BD did 130k thus far in Japan, and made the 360 sell quite a bit. As far as the Famitsu Most Wanted hype meter shows, LO is about twice as anticipated as BD ever was. Which bodes well for the 360. I can't really remember alot of over-hyped "god of all games" for the Xbox that were crap, aside from Fable....Most titles on the 360 that have been hyped ended up being fantastic.

They are new IPs for AAA developers. This isn't like Sony fans touting Killzone 2 when the prior title wasn't all that great. Bioware has consistently made top notch titles. Silicon Knights are the makers of the original Legacy of Kain in addition to Eternal Darkness. Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are from the man that created Final Fantasy. The REAL Final Fantasy titles. Not the dumbed interactive movie titles that Kitase and Nomura produced, but Final Fantasy 1-6 and 9. They had the gameplay as well as the storyline. So while a good deal of the 360's holiday lineup is full of new IPs, they are new IPs from proven development teams.

I am really not only NOT worried about the Wii, but I'm looking forward to the future.  The key thing you forget to mention was that NINTENDO was releasing most of its big guns this year.  I really cant wait for the future because I truly believe nintendo's third party support is really going to take off sometime early 08, and its going to start with the GTA port for the Wii that I have strong suspicions about (although nothing backing up this, its just a strong gut hunch). 

GTA port or not, I really feel 3rd party support is going to take off, (and its really already starting, but not nearly there yet).  I feel there will be much less (not that there is very many now anyway) Xbox and PS3 only games, (as in those games will be also on Wii) as a FEW more 3rd party exclusives that simply have no real point in being released on other, more expensive to make, consoles due to only being good and new from using the Wiimote for things (things as simple as aiming in 3rd person shooters, but the 3rd person shooter be nothing real special beyond that).
