You don't have a right to feel disgusted if you don't take meat out of your diet.

Otherwise you are just such a hypocrite it's not even funny.

Local/free range farms, Mr Judgemental.

You don't eat McDonald's at all? You only eat free range?

Now, if you will answer these affirmatively (which no-one I've ever met could honestly do), then...

Show me a video of these "humane" killings that happen on your lovely free range farms.

And stop getting offended automatically because you're actually on a guilt trip.

No, I don't eat McDonalds. Living in a rural area I generally get my meat from the local farms.

I've seen the abatoir as a kid, cow had one of those guns that shoot out a rod and pull back in put to its head, boom. Seemed fine to me.

And I don't feel guilty. On occasion I do buy meat I don't know the origin of, and I'm okay with that. It's unpleasant, but to be brutally honest I don't care quite enough to change my entire lifestyle.

I've seen so many of these documentaries, none if them moved me in the slightest. Call me cynical, but I'm perfectly aware that the animal will be treated badly if I want to buy my meat for under 5 € per kg.

I'm with you. I am fully aware and it doesn't really affect me... maybe we're just heartless bastards heh.

I would love to go vegan... but meat is so god damn yummy.

I'm addicted. Can't kick the stuff.

I feel like I've seen this same footage for years now. Surely our slaughter houses have created even more barbaric methods.

well im not going vegan, but... dear god, there must be a better way D:

wow, im shocked really :/ I feel bad eating meat, but then again... a lot of animals in the wild get eaten alive, and torn apart by predators, so it can't be that much worse then it is in the wild I guess :(

This girl I know showed a link to this. I've seen animal abuse videos before but this is just beyond fucked up. I literally am close to puking this is so disgusting and I have a high tolerance for seeing messed up shit. I eat almost no pig at all though, I don't think a vegan diet could ever work for me sadly. Seeing shit like this just makes me continue to hate the world more and more. How the fuck is this crap allowed to happen? Animals killed for food should be treated well and killed humanely by now, it's absurd.
The worst part is this people guilty of these disgusting acts will continue to go about their lives, some may face karma while others don't endure a fucking shred of what these animals do when they should endure so much more.
I'm going to post a youtube link to this. Warning. It is extremely graphic and beyond disturbing. If you can, watch it and have your eyes opened. Do the world a favor and tell people about what you see.

Believe it or not, but your straightforward, honest point of view is actually respectable. Completely unlike those that are pretentious and in denial.

Its in human nature to eat meat.

Nice try.

What you mean is that you grew up that way and therefore think it's normal/essential.

Weak.

MANY people think eating dog is absolutely normal, whilst you would probably call it inhumane. Open your mind.

It has nothing to do with the way i grew up. Humans always ate meat, ever since they were able to hunt. Its is in our nature. I doubt many (ANY) of our ancestors were vegan. Its just another new , lame trendy sub culture fad

1) Let's not turn this into an evolution-of-humans discussion, because that's exactly where you are taking it.

2) There have been entire civilizations that were almost completely vegetarian. I'd know, because I studied Indian and Indonesian history and culture.

3) It's not in our nature. That statement makes no sense. Using exactly the same logic you could argue that humans killing each other is in our nature, since it has been part of numerous cultures. Yet we look upon it now as barbaric.

4) It's not new at all. Some of the oldest civilizations were completely vegetarian.

5) It has everything to do with the way you grew up. Every single belief system you have has to do with how you grew up.

6) Just because it's presented as some trendy fad where you live doesn't make it one.

If you actually spent a few hours researching the myriad of reasons why people are vegetarian you'd stop being so cynical. Fact is though, there's no changing a cynic.

How about some objectivity? No-one's accusing you of anything.

How about putting a video of humane killing on here?

Might seem stupid to you, but since you seems to be against eating meat (my impression of previous comments, please correct me if I am wrong), I want to ask you something. Of course, there is limited, if no proof at all out there, but I think that sometime in the future, we might do some big, new discoveries in this field:

Do you think plants/vegetables enjoy being eaten?

How do you know plants/vegetables do not feel pain?

Many plants have defense mechanisms which have been developed through millions of years. If plants were not bothered by being eaten or killed, why would they do such a thing? Why have so many plants developed toxins, thorns,  spikes, communication systems, etc if they had no actual will to survive?

There are plants that react to physical contact, like the Mimosa Pudica or the Dionaea Muscipula (Venus Flytrap), which also happens to be a carnivorous plant.

Many plants react to damage and/or attacks by beginning a chemical reaction to repair/protect itself as well as warning other surrounding plants that there is a potential danger looming.

I certainly do not justify how many animals are treated, and I find it truly disgusting, even though I eat meat almost every day. However, what annoys me is that 'veggies' are sitting on their high horse claiming to be so much better, when in fact, they might be just as bad. Just because we haven't found any proof, or cannot seem to grasp the idea of plants feel pain in a different way than we do (through the central nerve system), doesn't mean plants don't feel pain. Plants might have a totally different system, which we have no knowledge of. So unless one or the other is fully proven, please feel free to get off your high horse mister.

I can't watch, I love animals to much.
