That's obviously not what the thread title is asking. The answer is so obvious it doesn't need to be asked if downgrades are allowed, in that case you could run anything on almost anything. PS2 could run The Last of Us if you cut it down enough.

If that's what thread title is asking than its not worded properly. Go make a new thread so you get the exact answer you want.

Your Last of Us example is stupid because the specs between PS2 and PS3 are extremely different.

If the Wii U is so incredibly powerful I'm surprised the ports it received don't perform at 60fps and 1080p.

It's asking if they could run on PS3/360. It doesn't say anything about "if they were downgraded".

PS3 and PS2 being far apart is the point; you an port to even a vastly weaker system if you sacrifice enough, so if sacrifices are allowed, it makes no sense to even ask the topic question.

We don't enough about X, but I would think that PS360 would be able to run all three without much trouble.

That's Donkey Kong Country Returns on Wii, running in HD on the Dolphn emulator. ;)

If we're going to compare games by year:

PS3 launch COD:

Wii U launch COD:

When you even have to make this comparison, it makes you look bad. Especially considering that CoD is on PS3/360 and looks just like the WiiU version.

I don't think anyone doubts that Wii U is more powerful than PS360, but the games aren't able to show it quite yet.

It took 6-7 years for the PS3 and 360 to pull off Black Ops II, Wii U did it at launch.

The point is, if you compare games from the same point in each console's lifespan, the gap becomes evident.

Big sacrfices would have to be made to bring Last of Us to PS2.

We aren't certain what kind of sacrifices would have to made to bring those Wii U games to PS360, if any at all. We haven't even seen the final products.

People are getting overly excited about graphics shown in a trailer. Maybe we should for the release of those game before boasting about Wii U graphics. Especially considering everything we have seen on Wii U thus far hasn't been particularly impressive.

Never said the same level of sacrifice would be needed. Point is, once you allow sacrifices, even big gaps don't stop a game from "running" on a system. The thread might as  well ask if these games could run on the PS2 if that's the case.

For Wii U games to run on PS3/360 without sacrifices, they'd have to be smaller than 512MB in RAM. Tell me, if you had 1GB available, why would you use less than 512MB of it?

Right, not nearly the same level of sacrifice would be needed. Nor are we certain how much sacrifice would be needed.

You just keep boasting about the 1GB of RAM. As if you actually know the games being developed truly utilize all that memory.

Did New Super Mario Bros U utilize all that RAM as well? It must have, why not use it all?

It's not "boasting", it's just discussing specs, which fits the thread topic.

For years now devs have struggled with the RAM limitations of consoles, that's why they're so over the moon about PS4's 8GB. After being restricted by 512MB for so long, (or in the case of Monolith, just 88MB) why would they leave half the available RAM unused? That doesn't make sense. I can see Mario Kart 8 not being memory intensive, but X is an open world game, and Bayonetta 2 showed large, detailed backdrops.

the game is from ps360 so an unoptimized version will obviously look on par. but that's still a game made after 6-7 years of ps360 and wii u handled it with it's hands tied.
