Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Live gold members get free game on 1st and 16th of each month through 2013

Easy now, PS Plus gives away old games too. And there will be Gold members who didn't play halo 3. Every free game will "have allready been played" by some circle of gamers.

But the point isn't to refute the service based on its offerings, its the service itself that deserves credit where its due.

No doubt. But not many, and that doesn't offer any incentive for the majority of people.

It does deserve some credit for adding value to the service. I think PS had something to do with that, and vice versa for paywalls.

So PS gamers get a paywall and Xbox gamers get free games.

Nice trade I suppose

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Halo 3? It's 6 years old.

I'm sure that 1 user who has yet to play it will appreciate it. Is this serious?

Its the first month. And the millions who bought 360s in the last few years in all likehood didn't play it.

But the main differentiator I see here is....you keep the games, even when you go back to silver. This is a nice developement.

I haven't played either.  What about Assassin's creed 1?

lulz

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Fable III is free right now last time I checked...

Are we seriously complaining about free games? Free is free people.

DRM complaining is one thing and justified. Stop bitching when they could have just kept going business as usual and not offered any games for free (which apparently 40M+ were OK with as-is).

I'd trade "free" games for free multiplayer any day.

Paying to use P2P makes no sense at all, I'm sorry to say.

I hate this "trade."

Halo 3 is like $5 used, Fable III $10 used and Assassin's Creed 2 $15 used

Xcom $30 used, Little Big Planet Karting $30 used, Dues Ex $20 used and Sleeping Dog $30 used

You guys get my point.....

Well unfortunately I have both of those games but its great that you can keep the game forever. Still is no where near as good as what PS Plus offers.

At this point, I don't think there are many 360 games out there, which I haven't played, but would like to.

Maybe Assassin's Creed Brotherhood/Revelations/3/4, or Crysis 2/3, but I didn't buy thoses games for a reason.

Ooo, Dark Souls would be nice

Still, a bit late, it would be nice if MS gave us these games while they were still worth more then $10...
