So what he's saying is that he doesn't want to make a new F-Zero without having some brilliant new addition, and he doesn't want anyone else to mess with his baby.

So there goes my hope of a F-Zero X (or GX) remake brought to us by Monster Games.

Thats selfish...he messed with Star Fox Adventures.

You mean Dinosaur Planet? If anything, I'd say that the Star Fox brand saved the game from being a commercial disaster. A better example would be Paper Mario: Sticker Star, particularly because it's recent. Circa-2003, Miyamoto was still being credited for making sure that Metroid Prime turned out well.

I edited the post, but yeah. The game would've been great because it was a core Rare game that wasnt Conker. Nintendo was just giving rare a hard time. You'll see what I did when you check out the edited version. LOL

The main problem I have is that the game was moved from N64 to GameCube. If it stayed on N64, I think it would've been very well-recieved and sold even more than it would with the Star Fox name attached to it.

I kinda want Miyamoto to step down. Seriously, he's a great guy, and I appreciate all he has done immensely, but he is so out of touch with what fans want these days. Sticker Star is entirely his fault, Skyward Sword is his fault, no F-zero is his fault. No starfox is his fault. I mean, the guy is just a wall these days, preventing everything I want from Nintendo actually happening. I like the guy, but he isn't even making anything new anymore, and all he wants to do is stop things we want.

The new Mario Kart has F zero inspired track design. So there is something.

No. A gimmick tends to be a short lived trend or fad created with the sole purpose of luring a market of people. The Wii was made to lure people who dont game. It was created to simplify the process so they are no longer alienated from enjoying games. Sales show it really didnt matter, except for the Wii Fit, Wii Sports and stuff like that. Moms everywhere were going Gaga for Wii fit until Microsoft launched the Kinect.

No u said device used to attract business or attention, thay Iis the sole purpose of every single thing that is sold.

The hope of anything sold is the hope that it gets attention but the Wii was designed to make gaming simple and fun for all. From young kids to geriatrics. Nintendo went to your door or peeped through your window until you called 9-1-1 because "We want to play". Don't you remember those commercials?

Im not arguing that Wii is a gimmick im just saying by thr definition u provided that describes basically anything. Im gonna drop it tho since this has nothing to do with this thread.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Lots of people asking for a new F-Zero are so desperate for one that they are even willing to accept a straight up port of GX with updated visuals. It may seem like a good idea, but what do you after that? Just keep on adding more characters, tracks and polygons? How long do you think until people get tired of it? Will it even sell to begin with?

I think Miyamoto is over thinking about what new features to put in the next F-Zero, but going in without any sort of direction of were you want to go is a bad idea.

Rare: Check out our new adventure game!

Miyamoto: Ehhhh....theres something missing...

Rare: What!? We can fix it sir.

Miyamoto: Put Star Fox skins on the characters

Rare: That makes no sense, this isn't a flight game.!

Miyamoto: Don't worry, it will sell more

what actually happened was that Miyamoto said that the main character looked like Fox McCloud and they both liked it. the game turned out half hearted b/c Rare was being rushed since they were being sold to MS ( ie the final boss being Andross)

I blame everyone who didn't run out to arcades and pump dollars into F-Zero AX
