Doesn't change the fact that he said 60fps should be standard for a FPS and then listed Battlefield 4 for PC being 60fps as he knows the console versions aren't.

Also love how you cherry picked all the bad things about out of the article, but a game likeInfamous Second Son got nothing but praise being one of the best looking games, with no frame drops or pop in that they saw at the demo.

Well, I think the all-praised ps4-hardware raised expectations which this article counters. Games still look good but to me it's no news to say "everything looked great" when ps4 is set to dominate in every way imaginable.

And infamous? Wait, I saw something on GAF ... Oh yeah, that's it:

Yeah I noticed that too. Thinking about returning my copy. Oh wait, it still has a year left in development.

Pretty much expected. 1080p is going to be standard for next gen consoles with the 30/60 fps choice down to the devs. They can either go; 60 fps with similar graphics to higher-mid ranged PC graphics today, or 30 fps with more fidelity/effects in games.

Either way, I'm happy that they have the choice compared to this gen where the majority of games on PS3 or 360 are running at 720p/sub HD with frame rates 30 and under.

Why can't we be happy with that? Instead of trying to spin things around and make things sound more negative that than they are.. But really, if you don't find the PS4 launch software all that impressive then what chance does Xbox One have to offer to meet that expectation with weaker hardware? Honestly, if you care for graphics so much why not just go out there and buy a high end PC and put all these pissing contests to rest.

I'm seeing comments of graphics are more important than gameplay. Get a PC if you're a graphics whore. You honestly would rather play a clunky Killzone over a smooth experience because it may look a little better?

This is exactly why I despise Killzone. Yeah its a great looking FPS, but that is all. The controls are terrible and 60fps should be the standard for a FPS. I don't want to hear "its supposed to feel that way and GG wanted 30fps." battlefield has heft to its guns and it runs at 60FPS+ (PC) and it is responsive. Being unresponsive and 30fps =/= heft.

So why is your avatar Master Chief from Halo?  None of the Halo games run at 60fps.

because there is no nextgen-halo. halo5 is said to be 60 fps,

Yes, Halo can do only with cloud computing without that it can't do, but PS4 is more capable when the developers learn more about it which is good for offline console.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

If the games plays better at 30fps with good detailing then we can feel it unlike PC games aren't purely developed on it becoz they are ports. GG knows and will make the game optimized for 30fps in PS4 unlike PC games which aren't optimized to get best gameplay out of it so we need to up framerate to get better gameplay.

I never said that Infamous didn't have any framerate issues or pop in, the things you're linking to on GAF I pointed them out myself in another thread.  I'm saying that Digital Foundry mentioned that they noticed no pop in and no frame drops in what they've watched.

Also the texture pop in segments are very few and the game was announced for 2014.

What I stated still stands.  Your posts cherry pick information so it's beneficial to you and your opinion.

60fps matters this Gen. If these consoles can't hit 1080p and 60fps for every game then they shouldn't have been released. Next Gen hasn't even started yet and compromises are already being made. We aren't talking about Halo on the 360. Its funny if any negative thing about Playstation is mentioned the Sony fans come to the rescue and defend it but they sure like to pile on when its Xbox related. You can dish it out bit you can't take it.

I'll be sure to remember this, then throw it in your face when you sing praises of an Xbox One exclusive that only runs 30fps.

Xbone stronger than Ps4 confirmed!

All jokes aside, i've read in another hands-on review that KZ really wasn't that impressive. And most Ps4 games were seemingly behind Xbone games when it came to graphics. Wonder how this will turn out.

The behind closed doors, off-the-record talk is that the PS4 is running hot.  Hence why you saw the issues with the two games at E3.  Apparently the GDDR5 memory is the source of the heat problem.

Got a link to the story of the PS4 running hot?

It is one my main concerns, why do you think MS went for the big box? They don't want to make the same mistake they did with the first X360. I really hope PS4 doesn't end up to noisy.

I'll wait for reviews with actual retail hardware and finished games. Until then I'll be playing GT6 at 60fps with weather and day/night cycle. Take that next-gen.

Few things:

1. Demos are just that, they are taken from the real game, but can be generally unpolished and are definitely unfinished. In fact any demos (from MS/Sony) could be a few weeks to a few months old. Working on demos for games is quite painful, so i can understand some demos having people standing with them while they play the games as EG pointed out. So much can go wrong with them if users go off the beaten track.
2. Some games are 4/5 months out. If the games are complete and all thats required is polish, then thats a hell of a lot of time to get the games into a better shape, as well as improve overall performance.
3. There is definitely a case for graphics over performance. If we take COD for example, they go for 60FPS, but it looks like crap. This is the choice you make, and in fact the choice is harder at the launch of a console, because you haven't necessarily improved your engines enough to try and do both. I've never had a problem with 30FPs on infamous. I would accept stable 30 and those graphics.
4. Picking Infamous/Driveclub as examples where there is pop-in/texture issues, these games are not due till next year, that is a very long time. The infamous gameplay video that was released, looks truly awesome and was definitely the best looking game of E3.
