Forums - Gaming - What is up with the "Two Face" look to the One and the PS4?

The PS4 isn't as extreme, but can someone explain to me what is up with this having the surface of the PS4 and One such that it isn't uniform on the outside?  When I see the systems, I keep thinking they are two separate parts, and you take one off and add something else?

What is up with this "Two Face" look?

I don't know. You might have to ask the console designers about that one.

I have to wonder what both Sony and Microsoft's designers were thinking.  I swear, based on the pics I have seen, I keep thinking the console is able to be divided into parts and replace one part with another part there.

It started with the PS3 slim and I guess they just got carried away after that.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

You mean the Super slim? Because my Slim console doesn't look two faced.

I know, I'm not a big fan either.

I was wondering the same. The PS2 Slim had it, then PS3 SS, now PS4. I'm not a big fan of it really.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

The Xbone pulls the 2-face look better than the PS4 does honestly.

Though PS4 would look better if it were white.

I love it. Especially the ps4 design. They done good this time.

Seems strange both Sony and MS are doing the two face thing.

In terms of the shape...Having seen the new Apple mac "bin" today... perhaps it helps with heat spread better like this than a normal shape. As it seems like weird designs seem better at heat management...lol.
