Forums - Gaming - Square Enix: Success for FFX HD could "pave the way" for more HD remakes, including FFXII

Lazy, but I'm just gonna have to copy my comment across:

"So maybe 3 years down the line we'll actually see it released -_-

Still, I'd much rather have XII than X, so this puts me in quite the dilemma.

I wonder what their expectations for "successful" is, too. Knowing Square Enix, the bar is quite high and they'll ignore how it performs relative to other HD Collections."

Still, after reflecting on that previous thread, it seems that a moderate amount of effort would reap pretty nice returns as long as the sales are somewhat decent. Maybe they don't have to sell amazingly well. I'm pretty sure that more than the 200k Kingdom Hearts sold is a given.

I fear they will be expecting 4 sales per Vita for the Vita port >_< Though I will buy FFX once on Vita. Not interested in X-2 so kinda glad it's split on Vita. Just a shame it won't get a physical release :/

FFVI - FFIX HD next?  Magic 8 Ball says..

Come on SE. Come on.

vi to ix and you have mega sales Zidane and cloud and HD wew itll be crazy seeing tifa n all that some of my fav characters squall n others too But makes them ps4/ps3 exclusives FF sells best on playstation anyway FF13 is that fact!

WHY NOT 6-9!? Those were the best Final Fantasies! Why XII? WHYYYYY!? I don't care about FF after 10. Never did care... and tbh I didn't care all that much for FFX either. I want a remake of Final Fantasy 6 before I die... that's all I want. Sadly I'll probably die before that happens: I'm 16.

I planned on getting it regardless but if this leads to more HD remakes of other Final Fantasy games then I'm all for it.

Personally, I'm disgusted at how Square-Enix is one of the worst publisher when it comes to re-release and price. Just look at iOS or the number or release and extra editions. It's even worse than Capcom's Street Fighter versions...

Do you know how easy it is to release a simple HD remaster of a PS2 game? Well it's simple, try PCSX2 the emulator and see how easy it pulls up better HD graphics for original ISO of the games : it's automatic.

So these "remaster" are unfortunetly a huge rip-off that is to expensive for what it is and most importantly, too limited : they should have release KH 1.5 and 2.5 (plus, how stupid are KH titles?) altogether, and the same goes for FFX, FFX-II and FFXII that should've been released in the same package.

I know meme reaction images are frowned upon as posts, but this deserves a facepalm.

No emulator would make the game look better than it does now. It also wouldn't redraw the character models and add back in international content to the NA version.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I would really love that if they remake the whole graphics. I read that FFXII uses the crystal engine of FFXIII (downgraded obviously); so I think this could actually happen.
