"Comparable" is a vague enough term. I suspect he's talking about the architecture considering the CPU and GPU tech is fairly similar. Even with the extra 50% power in the PS4, the end result will be a few added effects here or some extra anti-aliasing there.
Should still be more noticeable than the PS3/360 differences when devs push the consoles.
Everything is comparable... And, after the comparission, you realize something is better...

Agree, i think its especially a non factor when some people are struggling to see the difference between current gen and next gen. And thats something like 6-10 times the difference.

Looks like you need it :) Listenning to all PS4 fans, the PS4 is 50% more powerfull (even if this is only on paper and only for one or two specific aspects). But it is okay, do not worry, PS4 is effectively slightly better (like the PS3 vs 360) so Sony fans can still brag about it, will not change the fact that it will mainly depend on the talents, exclisives will look as good on both and multiplatform will be similar. |
The differences between PS3 and 360 are nothing like the differences between PS4 and One, especially when taking console architecture into consideration as well.
Also, it may only be one specific part that is 50% more powerful, but in this case it's the only part that matters.

nothing will be much more impressive than anything, it´s simply not possible anymore so get used to that.

If you believe so and makes you happy, it makes me happy :) Enjoy your PS4!
Sigh it won't be very noticeable at all. Once again we're talking about a 50% difference (supposedly). For comparison purposes I have a HD7950 and my friend had a HD6850 (he has since upgraded) and I run BF3 ultra settings at 70-80fps. Now he on the other hand played it at medium-high settings at 60fps. The visual differences were tiny. It will be the same thing with these two consoles. PS4 may run some games with AA or maybe at a faster frame rate but the visual differences will be negligable. Just like I can't see much of a difference between Crysis 3 on medium and Ultra even though to rum Crysis 3 on ultra at 60fps I would need a GPU almost twice as powerful
50% faster on paper is not 50% more frames per second, lets just keep that in mind since we've been in the diminishing returns situation for quiet awhile now.
