Forums - Sony - You won't be able to play your games if Sony shuts down their servers ( PSplus)

I see a lot of people hating on the Xbox One and saying you won't be able to play your games anymore if their servers go down. But the same can be said about PSplus. If the service ends you will lose all your games. Now your answer will be " yes, but Sony would do something about it, they would give you your games at that moment". But the same can be said about Microsoft, they can unlock your games if the service expires.

Conclusion: The argument about not being able to play your games anymore is flawed

But but but.....they are free!! D:

Actually plus is only a requirement for the online component of the game.

You can still play offline without plus in single player.

But xbox one requires you to activate all your games/check in no matter what the game type is..

Sure, let's continue to make things complicated. Those games are only given to you, and only available to you if you have an ACTIVE PS+ account.

Forget the servers going down, if your account doesn't have active PS+, you're done.

To say they're YOUR games isn't true. If you purchase those games, they're yours, and then, no, because you BOUGHT them, you CAN play them, without PS+.

With Xbox One, you get banned, you're done. Period.

This is why I dont buy digital games from Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. Physical copies ftw!

Pretty much exactly what I have to say about the situation.

I don't buy games digitally unless they're digital-only games.  And even then, if there's a physical copy available (for example, things for Vita releasing physically in USA and digitally in Europe) I'll probably just import.

So long as they aren't tied to an online check-in system they'll be playable a long way into the future so long as I own the physical copies.

The exception to this is that I've bought a few PSP games digitally on Vita, rather than buying them on UMD which isn't compatible.  And I concede that I'm just going with it in that case.  I don't mind paying £3.19 for a PSP game in a sale and risk losing it in the future.  If I was spending £40 on a game, it would be a different story.

Both should offer an offline option like Steam does.

This is so sad they are grasping at every draw in jar to make Sony seem as bad as MS. This already happens now. You don't own the games, they can only be access PSN Plus games that you never actually purchased online. All of the digital games that you own can be played offline with no need for online and its tied to your account.

Only digital downloads if you are a ps+ member or is multiplayer game, now stop making up stuff. You like Xbone and dont care that MS tinkles you behind, good, but dont try to spread lies that make no sense, you are just embarrassing yourself. With Xbone all games will stop working when MS drops it.
