Forums - Microsoft - Ryse's "QTEs" are always successful, even when not pushing buttons

A QTEvatar is doing it for you!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

hahaha!

Yikes, any thread with any hint of negative Xbone news on this site is like blood in the water for all the sharks who aren't interested in an Xbox One anyway. Makes healthy discussion virtually impossible.

Anyway these aren't even QTE's, they are finishers. None of you haters ever played Conan?

okay. I think a little kid shouldn't be playing this game.

14yrs okay. but 10-12 isn't that a bid young?

I was talking about putting two year olds in front of any game. You can fool them for a while into thinking they're playing the game themselves. It's funny, and good for their self-esteem.

Ryse looked awesome, but too many QTEs can  ruin the game. Just look at RE6.

Amen, that fight with the monster shark at leon campaign would be amazing if it wasn´t all QTE =/

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

The first impressions from the games sites are really bad about these QTEs.

While I think Ryse looked beautiful, those button-finisher events seemed to really disrupt the flow of the gameplay. It would be one thing to occasionally see it on "bosses" or more difficult enemies, but it seemed like they are there for just about every enemy you kill up close. I can understand the desire for the developers to showcase the cinematic quality of each kill, but having the screen pause every few seconds for every execution prompt is not something I think people will enjoy.

Can't speak for anyone else but for me this is more a sign of where the industry as a whole is headed, a lot of developers are resorting to this bullshit, there was a time when people thought technology would immerse you more into the action in games but it turns out that they're using it for the opposite; they're making you more and more into a spectator. That's not what playing games is about, in my humble opinion, regardless of what platform these games are on.

Yeah. QTEs were OK in RE4 because they weren't  really forced... most of the time that is. QTEs in RE6 are just annoying... Specially when you need to find the damn keys.
