Press ain't reviewing it, even if it's the "hardcore Nintendo game" everybody wanted.

This is what really irritates me. People are off saying that Nintendo needs to show something that's new, graphically intensive and "hardcore". Yet here we are with the press not mentioning ANYTHING about X, and I'm sure the only thing that will come out of their mouths was how there were no compelling games being shown by Nintendo. The press is full of it and I find it appaling that they want to be taken seriously.

I think the reason the press haven't really been covering it this E3 is because it isn't there. The trailer in the Direct was fantastic, and I saw a number of outlets mention that it looked great, but there's no demo to try out and it's got the vague "2014" release window so we have no idea whether that's Spring, Summer, Fall, 1st half, 2nd half, etc. Plus, at this point the entire game is vague...we know what it LOOKS like and have a couple teases of what it'll SOUND like from the 2 trailers so far (sounds incredible! :D)...and we know that it'll almost definitely be named Xeno-something...but Nintendo has given no real concrete information on the story or the characters, or the gameplay (other than what we've seen from trailers: open-world, upgraded version of Xenoblade's battle system, some sort of multiplayer element, etc.) AND the game still doesn't even have an official title. At this point, Nintendo is still "teasing" the game. I expect them to ignore it now for another 6 months or so, until next January where they'll probably pull back the curtains on "X" as well as Yarn Yoshi, SMT X Fire Emblem, and other unannounced games in a big 2014 Wii U Direct to start off the year with a bang like they did in January this year. The press aren't focusing on it because even Nintendo isn't focusing on it...not yet at least. But I'm confident they will. Xenoblade managed to sell more in the US than in Europe and Japan combined despite coming 1 and 2 years later, respectively, AND despite the Wii being done and the game being available in limited release. I'd like to think Nintendo learned something from that. :p
