Forums - Sales - Japan sales: M-Create & Famitsu & Dengeki week 23 (June 3- June 9)

Yeah, that is some hell of a disparity of tracking between Famitsu & Media Create.

32k v. 39k for 3DS sticks out the most. 6k for Wii-U also seems like quite a big difference for what it represents (one is stable, one is a massive drop).

Called Vita dipping below 10k last week, too. It'll dip more before perhaps an Otaku-sized boost in two weeks from Neptunia and then a bundle-sized boost from Toukiden.

Nothing much to say on the software side really. Terraria > Minecraft, only in Japan. Terraria is having pretty decent legs for how it opened, really. Not a bad third week for SMT IV either, especially considering the second week drop. Gods Eater Burst showing up again is pretty odd, I thought it'd already had a budget re-release.

DKCR next week I think? Might spice things up a little. Heavens knows Japan charts need it right now!

(Oh, and hardware across the board is absolutely shocking. Best selling console with 32k on one tracker? Blimey indeed).

Japanese Market is falling apart.

Terraria was a new game though that released at the same time as the digital version, while Minecraft was avaliable online for a year already in Japan.

i highly doubt that the jap is imploding ! this is just the preparation for the new ps4 not even going and say xbox1 cause that like the 360 wont sell many units there! also games selling on smart phones has no relevance seeing as everybody has a phone plus 3/4 of the games are free to download

I'd imagine PS3 v. 360 had something to do with it too.

Seriously. Even the goddamned 3DS isn't a bright spot anymore. That's how you know the entire market is dogshit now.

Did the DS outsell the entire market week-to-week again?

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

Ok yeah, those 3DS numbers are starting to get worrisome.

They need a smash hit and fast. Really low numbers. Even the leggy games aren't showing legs. It took months for Tomodachi to drop below 50k.

Looking at the new JP numbers for the Vita even after price cut is saddening. No wonder Sony pretty much ignored it at E3. Looks like all they want to do now is to cut losses and push it as an indie central/visual novel platform. I think it's pretty safe to say that there won't be much left.

And WiiU.....yeah. Luckily it'll be worth it in the end with Smash and X but I'm kinda hoping that Nintendo's next console is a console handheld hybrid.

Refocus efforts onto 1 platform. Games have gotten too big and Nintendo is too small.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Yeah it's crazy. Japan is now the 3DS's weakest market of the big three gaming markets. If someone told me that 3 months ago I'd have had them instituted.

You really believe that when people are spending 118 million dollar in April alone on a free game called puzzle and dragons won't have an affect on the rest of the games market? Its incredibly popular with the japanese..

even the wallstreet journal had a nice article on it about this one game beating nintendo..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Even 3DS falling to average weekly sales. Next week all consoles besides 3DS could be sub 10k. This is really bad!
