You are right, but if they can pull it off on the Vita (less we forget, Vita has no gamez!11) whilst giving away 2 a month, why not for ps4?

maybe it 'll be a combination in the beginning.
you'll get the full access to the ps3 games and some limited ps4 games(30% maybe and full version for 50% of the original price) in the first 6 month.
As soon as more games are available (6-12) it'll be almost like on ps3 now(i'd expect "just" 2 games +2 indie )
Yeah it's surely going to be limited.
Why else would it have been called PS+ Edition ?
Maybe something like GT5 Prologue, so people who are really interesting in the game will still see reason to buy the game.
To answer kowenicki's question. Sony could make PS+ Editions for pretty much every first party game I'd guess.
Sony is gonna ruin the great reputation they build up over the years for PSN+ with these plus editions. They should let people go online for free until Gaikai is up or wait one year until they build a library of old games then start charging people.

Every game? I would expect even of 'PS+ Editions' to be able to tell a complete story. With a racing game you can just remove a certain percent of cars and tracks and viola, you basically got a 'lite' version of the game that still feels complete. What would they do with Knack for instance? Cut the game short at the story half told? That would piss a lot of people off.

On PS3, only the single player mode of Starhawk was free. I'm sure it'll be something like that, but this time only the MP will be free.
not surprising they might have to do a cutdown version at launch, still better than waiting 6 months like they did for vita to build up a back catalog, I reckon it will be limited to 1 game a month for the first year, then after that slowly reduce PS3 down from 3 a month while raising PS4. Vita will prolly stay at 2 a month.
To be fair we got 9 games this month in europe across PS3 and Vita, extroidinary value.

You could call every game for which DLC is available a "demo".
on-topic: Could be a limited version, yes. Unlike the launch of PS+, which came in the middle of the console lifecycle, there are no 80+ rated retail games that they could hand out for free in the first days of PS4. So the first PS4 PS+ offerings will not be as great as PS+ users are currently used to. So giving somehow limited version of new games might be the best practical compromise in the early days.

ps3 games wont play on the PS4 will they? |
of course not,ps3 games also won't play on the vita. but you also get the full ps3 support when you only own a vita and buy ps+.
It's one payment fits all.
I suppose both:sony and ms will make it that way to keep you tied to your account and system ,preventing people this way to switch sides.I'm pretty sure You can use your xboxlive gold for 360 and xbox1 and get full support for both systems.the same with ps+.And ms won't be able to offer xbox1 games in the beginning for free as there are only few games-
I also suppose that 90% of all early adopters of ps4 own a ps3 (the same with xbox1 owners)-there will be only minor problems with unsatisfied customers. As most early adopters own the older systems or are experienced enough to know that you can't expect tons of free games for a new system.Only problem that may occure is when the game support is as lousy as on Wii U.You can't offer 2 new games each and every month as long as only one game per month is released.
And I suppose Sony will release a cheap streaming box for gaikai(50-80dollar) where you can also use ps+ to play ps3 games.(i suppose a lot but this seems to be the easiest and most logical way if you don't want to harm costumers with complicated deals and impress them with support)
It is a limited version with only some modes, tracks and cars... you can unlock the fullgame with you buy it.
