The games were great. Although a few of them won't be coming 'til much later in 2014 (Halo, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive). So I would've preferred them showing the launch titles and more actual in-game footage. Dead Rising was probably the title I'm most looking forward to.

Pros, the things I liked the most:

Dead Rising 3 looked awesome (timed exclusive)

Fixed.....what? You know it's going to happen, just like Lost Planet on 360. Dead Rising 2 was available on PS3, I've never heard of a developer making a franchise go exclusive, after being multiplatform, without being bought out.

Increasing to a 5 out of 10, guess I was being too pessimistic.

GamingBolt

The Good:

Focus squarely on games, and nothing more. The games they did show off all uniformly looked incredible, and made a great case for why Xbox One should be considered by gamers.

The Bad:

The price is too high, almost unreasonably so; technical glitches in the conference galore

Conclusion:

Good job, Microsoft. Now the Xbox One actually matters again, at least in terms of what matters.

Score: 8.5/10

Not sure why people want to see more Japanese games.

Metal Gear Solid V
Crimson Dragon
Dark Souls 2
D4
Dead Rising 3 (somewhat)

Looks pretty solid to me.

Isn't D4 a game by Remedy? It was debuted right after Quantum Break, and the same person was still on stage, and he even talked about it. It would be odd if the spokesperson for Remedy talked about a Japanese game.

Also - Multiplatform, Arcade, 360, timed exclusives. Nothing Japanese which is really unique to the One console except for an Arcade game. At least I think it's an arcade game based on the cover art I found in my sig.

Splinter Cell Conviction.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

7/10, I expected all the big three to hit it out of the park and MS (for the first time in memory) didn't disappoint. They made amends for focusing on multimedia in the reveal.

Great selection of games for their target audience, thankfully for myself only a couple I won't have access to that I liked the look of. Two points down for lack of a killer IP, the price, and generally too many cg trailers. I'm anticipating higher marks for both Nintendo and Sony, bring it on!

I gave it a 6, but to be honest 7 would be more fair i think, compared to their last 3-4 years this was indeed their best yet.

Positives: Lots of games. No kids jumping around
Negatives: Lots of CGI trailers, Price Tag, no massive bombs,

Dead Rising looks great though, hoping its only timed exclusive... as i wont be able to buy it.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Overall it was a decent conference but for the wrong reasons. I was interested in MGS V and Witcher 3 more than the actual Xbox One. Also some of the games that they showed off will also be available for the Xbox 360 or Windows so it really didn't make me want a Xbox One. I also felt they didn't spend enough time showing off footage of Ryse and Halo, I didn't really care about hearing the technical specifications of the games. The price is also much too high.

On the bright side they did show off quite a selection of games, which weren't all shooters, cleared up some minor things such as Microsoft points being replaced by real world currency and finally some cool looking games for Xbox fans.

7/10

They were not CGI.  They were in-game.

The difference between in-game and CGI is CGI is rendered on high-end hardware to provide a nearly-flawless render.  In-game uses the game engine to generate the content.  It may be scripted, so a person isn't actually playing it, but is is real in-game footage.

Few games, if any, feature CGI anymore because in-game engines have come so far in the past decade.
