Forums - Microsoft - Update: The Witcher 3 confirmed for Xbox One with SmartGlass integration, Kinect voice commands

Polygon

A report from CD Projekt Red's native Poland says the company's forthcoming action-RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be featured at Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference tomorrow.

According to Polish news magazine Wprost, the game will be unveiled by Microsoft for Xbox One. To date, The Witcher 3 has been officially announced for Windows PC and PlayStation 4 as well as "other high end consoles".

The franchise's previous entry, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, was released for Windows in May 2011, followed by Xbox 360 a year later.

In related news, a cover feature of The Witcher 3 for Edge's July issue has been leaked online. Based on the Windows version of the game, it details a 'Witcher Sense' mode in the game that seems similar to the detective vision from the Batman Arkham games, and states that the full campaign will be 50 hours long.

*braces for incoming hate about how M$ will ruin The Witcher series by making the Xbone version a Kinect-fest, and how CD Projekt Red made a deal with the devil because they didn't unveil the game at Sony's press conference instead*

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

This is not "reported." It's a rumor by a not very respected magazine. And the article from this magazine was a contributor post.

(This is what I've heard from other websites discussing this article).

Ohh well respected or not is arguable, but Wprost certainly is no gaming magazine, with most definately no "inside news" from the industry.

Although I wouldn't be very surprised if that would be the case.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I hope the MS conference isn't just a 3rd party/multiplatform fest.

Nevermind then. Better luck next year.

Right, because there will be nothing from Rare, and other MS studios.

Go back and watch some of Sony's conferences back in the late 90's and the first half of the 00's... all that was there were 3rd party games, except back in those days most of them were exclusive to one console... Sony's console of course.  So it was OK.

That would be really, really, reaaaaaaaally strange considering the project lead had a lot to say about DRM back in April.

"In my opinion, DRM is the worst thing in the gaming industry. It's limiting our rights to play games owned by us"

Sorry? Are you having a go at me? I think we agree.  I'm saying better luck next year to teigaga.

By telling him better luck next year you're basically saying too bad because the M$ conference WILL be a 3rd party / multiplat fest, when in fact this will not be the case.  There will be several 1st/2nd party offerings on display at the conference, not just COD and Madden and FIFA and the like.
