the logical burden of proof is on the claimant to provide sufficient evidence. You should not accept a claim, good or bad, until it has been fully supported.

Why thank you, but I think you are still confused... What is the claim? The claim is Sony will have DRM... So yes, I agree... we should accept a claim until it has been fully supported... So please, anyone care to support this claim?

What? I said you should not accept a claim without support. That includes both the claim that Sony will have DRM and the claim that Sony will not have DRM. The logical thing to do is accept that we don't know yet because Sony has not provided sufficient evidence either way. That's been the position I've been demonstrating in every one of my thread posts. Clearly you're the only one here who's confused. I would lay off the chess metaphors and focus more on knowing the actual position of the person you're replying to. The regurgitated strawmannning is getting a little old.

MS has proven to you that third parties dont have to initiate drm becausw the are doing the job for them. everytime something anticonsumer is done ms does it without third parties having to worry. we know all this...... so  since when has sony proven that they put a drm system in place on the console to block all used games like ms? the answer is read the gamer news because they said they have no such system in place. ms is the only company in the history of console gaming that would dare impose the will of the greediest publishers upon gamers. when sony said they were with gamers as well as publishers you shouldve known where they stand. MS once again said fuck gamers and sided with ea and activision. now they are feeling the backlash because they need the early adopters. sony learned a harsh lesson early on this gen by screwing up their pricing. theyve appologized immensely.....but if sony didnt know early adopters care about their rights as consumers then now they know. MS was destined to make thi fumble because youve seen the decisions theyve made with the xbox.......you wouldve seen a huge screw up coming a mile a way. some consumers support anticonsumerism because it makes them feel elite or special......it makes you neither of those but rather the pet of a corporation and it doesnt matter which of the big three does it because it shouldnt be tolerated.

Leaving it to the publishers is effectively the same thing to me. I won't be surprised at all if all major third parties have some form of DRM, and Sony has online passes already.

Oh but it isnt the same. When gamestop starts raising prices because ms dug their greedy paws into their sales they will overcharge gamers. gamestop only makes two dollars per new game sold so they survive off  of used games. expect retaliation after the launch. sony will only have to worry about drm from a handfull of publishers. everytime ms fucks up with anticonsumerism the pressure is put on sony to follow.thank god sony didnt create an xbox live replica and created psn plus. if they are going to nickel and dime us give us something for it.

Yes, poor Gamestop. It's too bad some "greedy" company had to come along and mess up their charity service they were masquerading as a business. I do hope they don't go bankrupt due to console DRM.. where else can gamers go to be ripped off by extremely shitty trade in values with ridiculous markups, selling used games as new, among other things? Also, I'm not saying you're wrong, but got a definitive link showing they only make $2 per new game sold?

Gamestop as much as they are annoying with their pittiful trade in values still allows many gamers to buy games in tandem with trade ins and used prices. Secondly their store is just as much their right to own just as much a right as it is every americans right to first sale doctrine rights. there are mom and pop used game stores out there. Third of all if Gamestop was so bad publishers wouldnt use them as the main post for their preorders. They know avid gamers have depended on gamestop and thei ilk for years. if gamestop was phased out less purchases would be made because some wouldnt be able to afford all the hot games coming out. Tell me how many times youve seen new games or old ones getting discounted on xbox live lt alone games on demand?

It's not Microsoft's fault they built a DRM console. It's Gamestops... or 3rd party Publisher, me, you, or anybody. Just not Microsoft

First point: duh? And none of that changes.

Second point: Never said or implied GS has no right to run their store or even run it the way they do. As for peoples rights... why have you never been this vocal about the PC market? It's locked down way worse than MS is locking down the Xbone. It has the potential to be very bad... or very good for consumers. Time will tell.

Third: I have said this exact same thing on these boards before. Less used games sold = less new games bought. If the prices remain the same, of course. This is why you see cheaper games on PC all the time. The market evolves. I see games go on sale all the time on XBL. Last week you had Dark Souls for $10 and you could pretty much buy the entire Alan Wake series for like $12 or something. Of course, PC had a Humble Bundle sale where you could get the entire Alan Wake series for $2 if you wanted.

Fourth: No link about GS only making $2 per new game sold? :(

This kinda proves they actually DID think about it. Does not mean that they will actually implement it though. But if they did it would make sense. It does not need to go online for DRM

What does Microsoft have to do with any of my posts?

As for the bolded, I've already acknowledged this. Numerous times. The guy who started the thread has been saying that Sony will not have ANY DRM on their console other than online passes. I asked him how he knows that. His response was to compare me to a 9/11 truther because I didn't just assume that none of the games on the console will have any DRM.

You're rambling about things that have nothing to do with what I've said in any way.

Patents are filed without intention of incorporating them into a product ALL the time... that actually doesn't prove such things.

Funny how you don't have a response to my post that was actually directed at you lol. We both know who the confused one is. If you could actually refute my argument, you would have. Instead you leave vague comments like these.
